Does anyone get changed more than twice a day?

I dress fairly smartly for work- not suits, but black trousers etc. I come home from work say 2pm and think "ooh the bathrooms need cleaning". So I get changed into something "scruffy", as I'm a bit heavy handed with the bleach etc. Then I might have to pop to the shops for something for tea- and need to get changed again, maybe jeans.
Is it just me?
Do normal women swan round in Toast/Jigsaw outfits all day? I always think, do these women do no housework?

I very rarely think "ooh - the bathroom needs cleaning". I don't clean on a whim. But to a timetable.

I get changed sometimes - for same reason as you. However, some days I can't be bothered with changing so I put a pinny on whilst I clean

What I really need is an old-fashioned "overall" like the ones the female characters on Corrie used to wear

No, I get up, run youngest to school bus and walk the dogs in scruffiest imaginable kit, then get home and drink coffee. If I am gardening, I stay in same thing, otherwise I change then. If gardening I shower and change mid afternooon then do school run/ errands/shopping. Back home, will change into jersey bottoms and soft top to loll in front of fire. Toast/Jigsaw-esque outfits get an airing between 2pm and 4pm .

I'm sittinghere in my work clothes now. I'm basically lazy...

Not usually - but today did school run in one outfit, came home changed into something warmer and went to work. Picked up DS2 at lunchtime, then changed again to go and pick up DS1 because by then I was hot and then had to take DS2 for his swimming lesson.

Change into workout gear for Boxercise class, then home into baggy trackies and t-shirt.

Tomorrow I am going to stay in whatever I put on first thing!

I have two outfit changes and two only

1. Dressing gown and slippers

2. smart-casual

I do the housework in my dressing gown and change into it immediately I get home and am fairly sure I am not going out again

I change outfits all the time.

What do you do with the ones you change out of but have only worn for 1/2 hour? Into the washing machine (making more work for yourself and not saving the planet) or keep them around the bedroom, put them back in the wardrobe even if they're not properly clean? I ask because my DD1 is prone to millions of changes through the day.

because I have 3 children aged 3 and under and get messy quickly??

I just do work clothes then something comfy when I get home. At the weekend if I'm cleaning I will stay in my pajamas to do that though.

I try to minimise changes cos of the washing but I have no qualms in wearing a clean vest and jammy bottoms in bed every night.

I get changed into them about 6-ish too. During the day I'm usually in work clothes which are casual-ish - jeans, nice top, long cardie.

can I ask again, what do you do with barely worn clothes? Do you keep them around for the next few days until they are worn (or not) and thrown in the washing basket, put them back 'as new' in the wardrobe?

I just don't clean. Saves on having to change outfits .

I do sometimes, depending on what I'm doing (obviously don't go to gym in work clothes, or sleep in gym clothes and what not).

I get changed if I get muddy....and when I get ready for bed.

If I am doing housework involving bleach I will take off good clothes but (crucially) not put anything else on. Then dress again once finished.
But you can hoover quite well in nice trousers, you know.

The only exception is if I am going out (will put on nice top with work trous) or to yoga (will put on yoga clothes) etc

Half-worn things are folded neatly on top of the chest of drawers to await another outing - only actual clean things go back in the wardrobe.

Bunged on a mostly clean frock to get everyone breakfasted and out of the house this morning.

Showered and dressed in a skirt and top to go and see my friend.

Ds has managed to cover me in snot and biscuits so I'll change before going to see another friend this afternoon.

Then I'll put on running kit to go running later.

Will shower again after run and either change into 5th outfit of the day if we go out this evening, or will more likely revert back to mostly clean frock I started out in for sofa lolling and channel surfing.

I only wash things if they really need it, but in a hot country and with small children my clothes get smelly and dirty pretty quickly. I do keep mostly clean things on my bedroom chair for hodging about at home in.

Changed three times yesterday. DS2 is very gifted at shimmying across my shoulder and puking on my clothes, neatly missing the muslins artfully draped for the purpose.

i only clean at weekends when i'm in scruffy clothes anyway

Christina: I don't put barely worn clothes in the wash, they go back in wardrobe for another few wears.

I tend to get dressed reasonably nicely in the a.m since we're out most mornings (park, playgroup, nursery etc). Afternoon is getting dinner sorted while finger painting etc so scruffier jeans/ old dresses/ old tees for that.., then yoga pants etc after dcs are in bed so I can sit comfortably cross-legged on sofa and work... Then pjs, obviously. Different again if going out for the evening, or havinv people over, of course.

oh and I don't clean. I have (whispers) a cleaner. A well dressed one, mind...
