Nail Polish - can anyone recommend a brand that applies well, dries fast and looks good for more than just 1 day

I have tried expensive ones, cheap one, and lots inbetween.

Any suggestions?

And do I really have to do several coats? I hate that, it always smudges.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have had a look and I cannot get Rimmel here, but will ask my mum to bring me some next week.

Poor mum, her suitcase if going to be full of kids' clothes and nailpolish.

I like Nails Inc, they do lots of fab colours, good size bottles and last for a long time if you use their top coat.

use nail polish remover - before you apply polish

use a base coat first - (you wouldn't apply gloss to woodwork and expect it to last)

wait for the first coat to dry before appling second coat

The left hand start at the little finger first and the right hand the same start at the little finger.

if it is not a pearlised polish - use a top coat aswell

Essie - it's fab. It doesn't chip for a week.

avon here too - i think the advice about 2 coats is a must

oooh, just remembered that I am going to Dublin next week. Will leave plenty of space for nail polish.

Essie looks good, and will try Rimmel.

I have the most amazing Essie colour - it's a really shocking pink and called Bermuda something. I also love OPI polish and have a gorgeous colour called Bogota Blackberry.

Zoya... mine lasted for 30 days with no chipping!
