So what do you all think about Avon?

Off to do a credentials presentation to them tomorrow, but I know very little (personally) about their products.

I will confess that my image of them is not a good one, but that's probably hugely prejudiced and based on those awful "ding dong Avon Calling" ads from the 60s/70s!

So do you like their stuff?

The bust cream is great.

Avons not too bad these days, decent quality products imo.

Avon do a nice range of affordable stuff and a fair bit of designer perfume/make-up as well (the new Lacroix perfume is gorgeous). THe skin creams are as nice as any other, there's a lot of variety etc. What else do you want to know?

breast, boob etc. Helps firm them up. Ok it doesnt work miracles but they certainly more firmer and perker. A couple of times I have stopped using it, avon woman stopeed coming, and I did notice the difference

I've been doing the usual internet searches to find out about Avon, the organisation, product range, etc, but personal experience of the products is something I'm sadly lacking.

I suppose I just need to know how their stuff stacks up with what you'd buy at Boots/the department store, etc. From what I've read online it sounds good. What kind of person buys Avon, etc - is it hip, cool and trendy, and so on.

I'm not a cosmeticky person myself, which makes it even harder!

Sorry - should have pointed out I'm a market researcher, and we're going to see their market research department to pitch to get on to their list of market research agencies. There are no specific projects that we're up for, just selling our own company to them.

I suspect I might have to buy industrial sized pots to achieve that!

SGB - as a rep, do you still do door-to-door stuff?

BWI: Yup. I have half a dozen regulars, but (especially around this time of year) I still put cataloges through letterboxes and see if anyone new wants to order anything. I woulnd't say it's a living but it's a nice little bit of extra cash.

I'm a market researcher too (grins). And have sometimes had to ask my respondents about Avon, which has always rather amused me.
FWIW I think Avon used to have a bit of an image as moudy old-lady cosmetics, but the range is really pretty good now (as good as any other medium-priced high st brand), fashionable colours, jewellery etc, regular designer special offers (Morgan, Fiorelli, Lacroix, and Ben 10 and Bratz accessories for DC).

Ooh, I wasn't reading properly then and thought this was a bay names thread. Avon for a boy???

I love their shower gels and some of their make-up. DD1 likes their cheaper make-up range which means she can afford to experiment a little. We also like some of their shampoos and their bubble baths when they're on offer. Detangling spray is excellent too.
