mail order inspiration needed

I buy a few things from Toast every now and then (usually in the sale) but this season the two things i really liked sold out while i was making my mind up.

Don't want Boden stuff, or Joules, too many others wearing them ATM.round here

Like to look a bit arty but not too hippy.

Never seem to have time to go into the city to shop.

Any ideas for catalogues or online stores i could try?

I am getting very dowdy, all my favourite clothes are almost worn to death.

PS. I am not a yummy mummy, am nearly 42!

What were the two things you wanted from Toast?

The autumnal check dress and the purple funnel neck coat.

Hmmm. Am sure I have seen a dress v similar to the check dress. Will look and report back.

In the meantime, have you tried white stuff?. No direct experience of them myself but lots of mentions on MN.

thanks tulpe, I don't tend to like the prints so much in white stuff and like simple designs best. I am very fussy about colour, am a fair skinned dark redhead so many colours don't suit me, am flirting with purple this year though.

I have actually bought something from myarosa before (for a special occasion) but got the name wrong when i tried to google it this week and thought they must have gone bust . A couple of things on there that look promising, machine washable too!

I don't want to do leggings again (wore them the first time round) and am not too fond of my legs so a bit wary of all the short length dresses and tunics around.

Anyone else have the problem of finding nice slips to stop cotton dresses riding up over woolly tights? I am in Scotland and it is already a bit chilly up here.

Quite colourful and folksy in parts but a bit of the Toast vibe there too.

Bobthewoodmouse, quite possibly but my Mum likes it (actually she buys from toast too, but chooses more "manly" stuff than me). Will have another look.

now if anyone knows of some sites to show DH, who doesn't like to look too "Dad" but not like someone from a boyband or an elderly "skater boy" either. He runs his own creative company so doesn't have to wear suits but also doesn't have time to shop, he has gone off Howies.

yes,got my irish towns mixed up . hopefully the slip means i can wear good old woolly tights under it, plus boots so as not to freeze. totally different to the dress i wanted from toast but how often do you go shopping and come back with exactly whats on your list?
