I had a pair of Gucci ones, but broke them the last time I was down on the beach rockpooling. Just thinking about replacements really, so was wondering, oh stylish ones, what is everybody currently sporting?

Ray Ban aviators, my favourites,
Tom Ford Jennifers
Oliver Peoples Phoebes
Black oversize Fendis
Pale oyster pink Fendis

I am vvv careful of my sunnies, and never lose or squash them.

Tortington · 02/10/2009 20:18

2.99 from the market

Lonicera · 02/10/2009 20:19

I wear ray bans and have done for years

PestoPumpkinMonster · 02/10/2009 20:20

Raybans. They are made by a company that understands what the eye needs in sunlight (not just a label on the side) and the Gucci ones didn't suit me.

VerityBrulee · 02/10/2009 20:23

Pesto, I go into Harvey Nicks or similar, try on lots, as I have a small narrow face it's hard to get one that fit.

Then I ask the SA to write down the model number as I need to "think about it", come home google the number and buy them for a lot less than the shops

Prada

hannahsaunt · 02/10/2009 20:26

Oakleys always hurt my ears so it's Ray Bans all the way. These are the ones that have made my eyes most comfortable.

Bicnod · 02/10/2009 20:27

Oakley minutes. I've worn them for the past 10 years (not the same pair) so couldn't possibly change now.

I have a pair of prescription chanel - they are gorgeous and I would never sit on them!!

BonsoirAnna · 04/10/2009 07:55

Cutler & Gross. Always. They have great designs and no logo.

Buda · 04/10/2009 08:10

Prada this year.

Also have a Gucci pair that I bought about 5 years ago that are still going strong.

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 04/10/2009 08:24

My non-prescription are Rayban. My prescription ones are Givenchy.

ninedragons · 04/10/2009 08:27

Agree with Anna about no logo. Was in the optician the other day and this season's ones all have big logos and look chavtastic.

I have some YSL ones that have no logo. I am very fond of them.

monkeysmama · 04/10/2009 08:27

I have a serious weakness for sunglasses. They have their own shelf .

Rayban aviators and a red pair of my mum's from the 70s
Chanel aviators
classic black Prada
D&G gold ones for when I'm feeling
lovely black aviator style Cavalli
White & gold jeepers peepers
brown Moschino I got for my birthday 13 years ago
pale silver with green arms (legs?) from lulu Guinness tkmaxx
and 4 pairs from various high street shops I've worn when my sisters have nicked my other ones.

I could wear a different pair of sunglasses every day for 2 weeks almost. I don't have that many pairs of socks . My excuse is that I came of age in Italy where sunglasses are like shoes - can't go out without them.

monkeysmama · 04/10/2009 08:30

My seeing glasses are Alain Mikli. They last years, are beautiful & totally logo free.

TAFKAtheUrbanDryad · 04/10/2009 10:30

Oh lord, I heart Mikli. I work for an optician's and I keep trying to get my boss to get some Mikli frames in, but i think we cater to the wrong market!

purepurple · 04/10/2009 10:32

I have an old pair of Police ones somewhere but the ones I wear are from New Look.

traceybath · 04/10/2009 10:32

Tom Ford Jennifers in brown. Absolutely love them as very light.

I also look after them.

Handbags and sunglasses are my weakness. The rest is strictly high street.

treacletart · 04/10/2009 10:38

I get cheapo high street ones and then get optician to pit prescription lenses in - normally bulk buy identical pairs of cheapies too so I have spares if the frames break.

Eve4Walle · 04/10/2009 11:47

Next at the moment.

I've had at least 8 pairs this summer, all of which have been broken when my 20 month old got hold of them.

They were mainly from TK Maxx, but I had a lovely pair of JLo ones, several pairs of Betsey Johnson ones and a pair of Tommy Hilfigers. Then I had a few pairs of cheapo Primark ones and now I have my Next ones. He really did break a lot of them, didn't he?

tulpe · 04/10/2009 12:16

Gucci (small, oblong lenses)
Dior (huge bug eye ones)
Dolce & Gabbana (bug eyes but more square shape)

and a brand called "SK" which were a cheapie 15 euros from a ski resort when I forgot to pack my others (subsequently found other glasses a few hours later ). They are probably the most effective against the sun and actually quite stylish

mosschops30 · 04/10/2009 12:18

I always have a cheap pair and a nice pair.

Nice pair are for summer evenings out with friends or whatever, or evenings on holiday. After my Gucci's got stolen out of the car I bought a pair of Tiffany&Co from David Clulow and they are lovely [smile[

I also have a pair that I'll wear out with the kids, or to the beach etc, from Miss Selfridge which cost me £8 and Ive had them 3 years.
