Question- would you wear this maternity cardigan if you were NOT preggers?

Been looking for a long grey cardi thats not too chunky for ages and can only find this maternity one from Next. Am faffing cos not sure if it will look silly given I am a size 12 and not preggers - even tho theres no buttons or belt. Would there still be excess material on the front? Have not seen it instore to try on. DH thinks it looks a bit too dressing down like too -
what do you think?

I got one from Tesco for £14 thats similar.
There's likely to be loads of extra material, but you could always order it and see, if it looks ok, no-one's going to know its maternity.

CNyle · 28/09/2009 15:41

its a bit dull
I often find myself in the aternity section in H and M before i look up and rush out of there worrying somoene will think I think i am pg

It looks like there is excess material at the front, could be my eyes though.

Tesco do a VERY similar cardigan for £18 if that helps.

ThePhantomPlopper · 28/09/2009 15:42

or £14.

Ooo - thanks for the tip re Tescos! I'll go and look for one!

I am pg and in search of a cardigan and I still wouldn't wear it

the hood, the pockets and the general floppiness make it too dressing-gowny for me

remove any one of those features and I'd be right there

Primark had similar unhooded for £11 at the weekend

I hate it when you wander into the maternity section by mistake - especially when there are nice things there that aren't present in non-maternity form elsewhere in the shop.

not my taste and the lambswool/nylon sounds itchy. I've had a couple of mainly lambswool knitwear things from Next and they were horrible. Like wearing asbestos from a heat p.o.v. and itchy as hell.

OllieWollieWoo · 28/09/2009 16:10

Yes TA - and I always do that in the BB section in H&M and then spend the next half hour running aound to find the thing I saw in the rest of the shop - which of course it isnt!

Just wanted a cardi to throw on with jeans, boots and white t shirt. Espirit had lots online Mrs Badger if you are looking.

no it will look a mess

ThePhantomPlopper · 28/09/2009 16:11

The Nylon in it will make you smell funny too, especially if you are a sweaty type.

theansweris42 · 28/09/2009 16:19

there'll be lots extra fabric and it'll look dfat

theansweris42 · 28/09/2009 16:19

daft

£22.00 at Debenhams.

£25.00 at Uniqlo. Choice of colours there too.
