I too am a primark woman. And next, M&S, peacocks, dorothy perkins, wallis...etc...

overmydeadbody · 24/09/2009 20:00

I'm with tulpe on this one.

Stereotypes like this, whether about chavs or the middle classes, always end up going just that little bit too far.

overmydeadbody · 24/09/2009 20:01

See, Next is chavvy. Primark is cheap. There is a difference.

BustleInYourHedgerow · 24/09/2009 20:03

Including a sequined beret, ?4. Which I loved! Until Dp said nice hat in mean sarcastic voice. And 8 year old dirty little neighbour boy said

"eh.wha's tha on yer head?"

"It is a hat!"

"Eh. Right so then" (with puzzled face)

Will not wear said hat again

TheCrackFox · 24/09/2009 20:06

Primark do great T-shirts - far better IMO than other shops.

I shop all over the place, Primark, Markies, Top Shop, Ted Baker, Oasis, john lewis, New Look.

It would be pretty boring shopping exclusively at the one shop.

Arsed · 24/09/2009 20:10

NEXT, chavvy ...

Eh ?

hobbgoblin · 24/09/2009 20:35

My most admired piece of apparel is my caramel coloured woolly hat with scarf attached. It is too scruffy to wear again this winter and I so very hope they sell them again this winter or I will be

I shop in Primarni all the time, I also have a DKNY cosy wrap thingy, a Brora cashmere cardy & Uniqlo jeans. What sort of woman does that make me?

mehdismummy · 25/09/2009 07:36

never heard of brora or uniq whatever it is!!! so i dunno too be impressed or not! do you ebay perchance!!!!

Lizzzombie · 25/09/2009 07:41

Nezzi - If you fit into Uniqlo jeans it must make you a fairly skinny woman!
at Brora cardigan.

missmelly · 25/09/2009 10:07

my wardrobe is a lot of Diesel and a lot of Primark Tshirts etc

maybe Primark woman is a savvy shopper who doesnt want to spend a fortune on fashion that will only last 2 months?

KingRolo · 25/09/2009 11:47

Boden aspire to sell a lifestyle, not just items of clothing, so commenting on 'Boden woman' is fair game - but Primark is just a massive cheap shop with no lifestyle attached so this one doesn't really work.

Some nasty, nasty comments though. Much nastier than anything on the Boden / Per Una threads. The difference is that the middle classes generally speaking can take a little gentle knocking as they have money and status and proably a greater sense of self worth while the poor don't and it's not really very nice at all to kick people when they are down.

PuppyMonkey · 25/09/2009 12:00

I'm White Stuff woman actually. I feel a new thread coming on...

bigTillyMint · 25/09/2009 12:08

Why does it feel wrong to stereotype Primark woman, but hilarious to do it for Boden, etc?

willali · 25/09/2009 12:51

This Boden woman is also a Primark woman

Luxmum · 25/09/2009 13:29

Um, I shop at Primark, and I do it because it seems pointless to spend lots of my hard earned (financial sector, not asda checkout) cash on expensive clothes, when my toddlers are going to smear their banana on them.
I dont smack my children, am married to their father, am educated and dont drink Bacardi Breezers. This is a pointless, cruel and snobbish thread. I am utterly unimpressed. Or maybe I should just ask where Hobgoblin and Thebolter shop, as they are so clearly better than us mortals. And indeed, it's just clothes, they do not maketh the man, you know.. Your own morals and attitude do that.

AuntieMaggie · 25/09/2009 14:44

Agree luxmum.
