Short biker boots - please point out the error of my ways

I'm looking for some biker books, but want them to be ankle length, without too much heel (as I'll be wearing them in all weathers on the school walk).

But I can't find my perfect pair. They are either too clumpy and welly like, or have too many studs and eighties accessories.

However, I think I like this pair.

Please tell me what you think - or feel free to point me in the right direction.

this style is nicer

bishboschone · 24/09/2009 07:45

and they do black much nicer in real life..good price then if you dont wear them ..nothing lost

tulpe · 24/09/2009 07:49

I like the ones you linked to. Have you seen the ones in Gap? They are a very popular boot (shudders at use of singular...but can't think what else to put) and sell very quickly usually. They have them again this year, having had major sales with them the last 2 winters.

I have a pair similar to the Peacocks ones - bought from Faith 2 years ago but they had them again last year.....not sure about this year. They cost £50 which was all I wanted to pay as I wasn't sure about them. However, they are probably the pair of boots I wear most throughout the winter.

You won't regret buying a pair - they add a very funky edge to an otherwise so-so outfit on the days when you really can't be faffed with "style"

nickschick · 24/09/2009 07:51

I love the first pair, however the second pair look like workmans boots.

BunnyLebowski · 24/09/2009 08:00

Pip - I really like the pair you've linked to! They are very cool!

The Peacocks ones look cheap and clumpy.

mwff · 24/09/2009 08:02

biker boots are by definition clumpy and welly like, surely?

cocolepew · 24/09/2009 08:03

The first ones are lovely!

I want a pair

mwff · 24/09/2009 08:05

if you happened to be a size 5 and didn't mind brown you could do a lot worse than these

fishie · 24/09/2009 08:05

i've got gap in grey. here i think they are black and brown this year

DillyTantay · 24/09/2009 08:44

I cant imagine wearing them
they would be too clompy for my skinny legs i think
do you wear socks schwooshed down inside hte flappy bit?

DillyTantay · 24/09/2009 08:51

those first ones are VILE

Botbot · 24/09/2009 08:59

I got these blighters from Aldo the other day. I love them. The leather is lovely and soft, and I like a little bit of clump.

fishie · 24/09/2009 08:59

no they aren't clompy at all and i have teeny legs - the boots aren't all that wide so no need for socks etc.

mind you i need something fairly solid to balance out larger top half.

Botbot · 24/09/2009 09:00

The girl in the shop was telling me how she'd wear them with denim 'treggings'. I didn't like to point out that I am 38 (and last wore biker boots with ripped tights and a nightdress in the early 90s).

DillyTantay · 24/09/2009 09:22

ah the aldo ones are swoontastic.
well done.

noddyholder · 24/09/2009 09:28
