I love these ones.

Are they uber-cool or uber-naff?

OP posts:

rofl at uber nay foosa

LaurieFairyCake · 22/09/2009 08:31

They are FAKES from that site and you'll have to send them back to China.

these are the ones I want - the GAVIOTA - yummy

brimfull · 22/09/2009 08:32

ok for teens

TheShopaholic · 23/09/2009 11:18

Looks like the site the OP mentions are selling fakes. Here's the counterfeit statement from the UGG Australia website:

How to recognize online retailers that sell counterfeit product:
UGGAustralia.com is the only authorized online retailer that uses the term UGG in our URL. If you are viewing UGG® Australia product on-line anywhere (other than uggaustralia.com) and the URL or domain name includes any variation of "UGG", or includes one of our product names in the URL or domain (e.g. "Cardy"), this product is most certainly counterfeit.

just looks like a jumper tied round the ankles IMO sorry

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/09/2009 11:57

I think they are vile. DD has got some Ugg knock-offs from New Look, but she is 13 so I think she can get away with it.

However I put them on the other day to put the bins out - I kept them on all day as they were so warm and comfy. So am buying myself a pair to wear round the house.

But £150 odd for a pair of genuine ones? Don't be so bloody silly.

Sunshinemambo · 23/09/2009 12:00

Love them. Would wear them every day if I could.

gorionine · 23/09/2009 12:01

nay

tvaerialmagpiebin · 23/09/2009 12:06

I have to admit I didn't know that these were until I started posting on MN. Have just been to Tesco and seen a woman in some pale beige ones with black low-slung trousers and of course the complemetary muffin top. Hmm.

I remember moon boots being fashionable in the eighties - vile surgical boot type - and have to say that although these Ugg jobbies are no doubt warm, I would not wear them outside. Is it just me or do they remind anyone else of those footwarmer things that old people often have from Scotts of Stow catalogue type thing?

Definitely a Nay here.

SuzeMcG · 23/09/2009 12:07

Yay from me as they are so warm and comfortable. I just wear them at home, so it does make for an expensive pair of slippers!

KnickersandVests · 23/09/2009 12:08

Yay!

Here is a guide with money off from MSE for genuine UGG Australia boots.

Ripeberry · 23/09/2009 12:09

What is the point of them. When you really need them on a cold and rainy day, they are next to useless as they get soaking wet!

nappyaddict · 23/09/2009 12:15

I don't like the cardy ones I think they look hideous.

DillyTantay Out of curiosity do you think the original ones and the button ones look chavtastic or just the cardy ones?

nhamilton · 23/09/2009 12:15

Definitely Nay worn out of the house.

I grew up in Australia where everyone has Ugg boots as slippers (they're called that btw, not all slippers/boots are UGG brand - which seem ridiculously over priced). Wonderfully warm as slippers but never to be worn outside of the house. Definite faux pas there!

VinegarTits · 23/09/2009 12:18

Uggs are super comfy

I wear them around the house in winter

As for going out in public, a great big NAY, the chavs have made them unfashionable

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/09/2009 12:34

nhamilton - are Uggs as stupidly overpriced in Australia as they are here?

I mean - genuine Uggs - £150 or so
Knock offs with no discernible difference - a tenner

hannahsaunt · 23/09/2009 12:46

They are to winter as crocs are to summer ...

mejon · 23/09/2009 13:18

No, no and no again! Especially if worn with mini-skirt and bare legs - you're either cold or you're not (like sleeveless polo-neck jumpers)! And don't your feet get hugely hot in them too?

DoingTheBestICan · 23/09/2009 14:28

Big fat yay from me,love love love my uggs.

Had my first pair for 3 winters now & they still look great, they dont get all wet & soggy, they havent collapsed & the heel has stayed hard & they dont make your feet sweaty.

I dont care what people think of me in mine, all i care about is having warm comfy toes.

FimboFortuna · 23/09/2009 14:35

I work in a school and want these for the playground.
