It is for an important work event. VVVVIP with 1000+ clients.

Its an evening do, food and entertainment, not balck tie. I am working so can't be too sexy but would like to look nice.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Or are we looking at more netaporter type budget?

NoahDear · 16/09/2009 18:22

oi DD

have you changed addrres email wise?

LetThemEatCake · 16/09/2009 18:29

my-wardrobe my affordable than netaporter yet still glam and fab

nice sleeve detail

looks scarily short but she probably has a good 6 inches on you

BobtheWoodmouse · 16/09/2009 20:17

metallic plum colour - demure but sleeveless

safe black option with short sleeves

fabulous colour but a bit too sexy from behind?

another safe black option

dark red shift dress - 70% off

all above from theoutnet.com Lots more there.

TheHappyCat · 16/09/2009 20:52

Just got this in Reiss - bit disappointing online but looks fab on. Also comes in purple. Have teamed it with some dairy-milk coloured satin platforms here though you could wear funkier with that dress.

Romanarama · 16/09/2009 20:56

That Zac Posen one is fabulous.

BobtheWoodmouse · 16/09/2009 22:26

It is isn't it, Romanarama, thanks.

In my fantasy life, this would be my choice, that and unlimited budget and toned arms

Zak Posen dress

OK, I've had a recap. Here are my findings, hope I don't sound blunt but no point beating around the bush is there?

Really dislike the Yarni one and tehy whistles one.

Yuk to paul and jo sister one, Burberry one better but £££££££££ I'm no made o money, no siree!! In fact bobthewoodmouse - they are all out of my price range I'm afraid

My waist is my best bit and I have a flat tum so I can get away with something more fitted and less flappy. Think more pencil skirt type thing.

£100 max. That's alot for moi.

Thanks guys.

I hear Debenhams has great sale on so will check it out tommorrow.

aarghhelp · 19/09/2009 18:32

This is £29 or £32 depending. It looks v good with a funky, skinny belt and all the emphasis is on the waist. Length on me is just to the knee, with the belt, but I am about 5ft 9.
