Thanks Noah. I bought these today after your recommendation. They are LUSH! The softest, most spangly slippers I've ever owned

tiredemma · 11/09/2009 19:16

I once lost one shoe on a night out.

Strange thing was, I continued to wear the other shoe for some bizarre reason, and so limped around until the early hours. Why I never just took the other shoe off, ill never know.

SausageRocket · 11/09/2009 19:20

I used to walk barefoot but the pavements are rank, full of fag ends, tiny stones, broken glass, dog shit and bits of gob from yobbos young men

geordieminx · 11/09/2009 19:26

I am going to buy these.

I'm getting married in 3 weeks and being a short arse I have 5 inch heels. We are going to casino after wedding, by which time my feet will resemble pieces of brisket.. I thought these would be great for later on, alhough given dress is full length probably wont be able to see them.

Although to be fair I've never understoood people taking spare shoes on a night out.

  1. my bag is never big enough
  2. i would loose other shoes as I so couldnt be arsed carrying them after a skinfull few spritzers
cilitbang · 11/09/2009 19:29

Sausage....aaah those were the days, I remember it well. Also remember walking the the tramlines in city centre Manchester when no cabs available and I didn't know the way home so thought it was a genius idea to go best, most familiar way via tramlines, at 3 in the morning!....god the shame how I live to tell the tale I never know.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 11/09/2009 19:31

I wernt out wearing Doc Martens the last time I actually went out. Those poncy things wouldn't get me anywhere

geordieminx · 11/09/2009 19:31

Got these in ivory for £20

as opposed to these for £95

I heart Dune shoes - I dream about winning a competition where I would get every single pair of Dune shoes and matching bag. £1000 voucher would not be enough... thats only 10 pairs

SpawnChorus · 11/09/2009 19:33

It took me a good couple of minutes to realise that the bag isn't actually attached to the bottom of the shoe. I couldn't work out if it was a novelty shoe-festooned handbag, or a shoe which would be v tricky to walk in as you'd be dragging a bag along under your sole.

My poor brain.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 11/09/2009 19:35

same here spawn. Sat thinking WTF is it? Handbag-shoe?

SpawnChorus · 11/09/2009 19:40

LOL Perhaps we should retreat gracefully from these fashion threads.

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 11/09/2009 19:41

or stay and be disreputable

SpawnChorus · 11/09/2009 19:43

Oh that sounds much more fun.

HelenaBonhamCarter · 11/09/2009 19:44

I think it's safety related. It's so that people who have to walk any distance in the night aren't disabled by their inability to run in the event of being followed etc.

Good idea.

I can't open Noah's link now - I reckon 100,000 Mumsnetters are all trying at once ...

TheDMshouldbeRivened · 12/09/2009 07:32

I think I'd save time and not wear heels!

jasmine1979 · 12/09/2009 18:20

I almost kind of like them.
But then I do really like indian style slipper shoes anyway as opposed to heels for casual wear a lot of the time.
Not sure if i could be bothered carrying around an extra pair of shoes on a night out though.

Blackduck · 13/09/2009 14:05

I look at those heels and actually wince...my days of anything that high are long gone (I think I'd get vertigo...)

oneopinionatedmother · 13/09/2009 14:13

has someone already mentioned that these were on Dragon's den? the dragons were sufficiently impressed.
