LTEC I ordered lots of pjs for dd and a dress. Then this for myself in navy with vest to go under it. I have the white one and have worn it lots already.

this in navy andthis too though I think it looks a bit thin for what I wanted. My mum got a black boiled wool jumper a bit like this 10 years ago from French Connection and it is still going strong. I've been looking for one for years. Like a polo neck coat almost.

I ordered the cashmere cardicoat too after seeing your post about it on a different thread & deciding to shamelessly nick your style ideas.

lovely!!

my cashmere socks arrived today!! no sign of my cardicoat though .. they said I'd have the M now and the S in November - what did they say to you about available sizes?

Gap have a similar dress in at the moment - I bought one last weekend. I got the back version which looks great with black l/s tee and either skinny jeans or leggings underneath. Bit looser than the one you linked too though...

dairymoo · 11/09/2009 21:23

I should add "black version" is black and dark grey, which ASOS don't seem to stock....

dexter73 · 11/09/2009 22:23

How about this instead?

paddingtonbear1 · 12/09/2009 10:37

dairymoo I tried that Gap one on, my normal size (12) was really tight on the chest!

LetThemEatCake · 12/09/2009 18:35

the Gap checked shirt dresses featured in the Guardian "all Ages" feature this weekend ... only 2 of the older models

having said that though, they looked great! definitely worth a look. Thanks

LTEC - oh no!!! Well, I guess it's how you wear it, eh? I'm hoping my faded, battered skinnies bring some "youth" to the look. I'm only 30....

And yes paddingtonbear I agree re: the tightness on the chest. Am normally an 8 and had to get a 10 in this - and I'm pretty flat chested, so perhaps not one for the large of nork.

LetThemEatCake · 12/09/2009 19:00

sorry, meant to say "only on 2 of the older models" - but you obviously got what I meant!!

it's here

I think 1/5 looks cool - and she's probably what, in her 40s? am only 3 and a bit years off that, personally ... and I have boots in that style, black patent though ... am tempted...

Go on...it's very versatile, comfy (more comfy than the FC one, I'd think?), fairly stylish - how can you afford not to?

paddingtonbear1 · 12/09/2009 21:37

I was tempted to try the size up, but was afraid the bottom bit would look like a tent!
