i've always had bad skin, made worse by the fact that i can't help but squeeze a spot

anyway, my best friend is getting married next year and i am chief bridesmaid type thingy and i want to not look shit!

i know i'll get make up done and all that but i'd really like to improve my skin anyway so that they don't have to pile the slap on to cover it up!

am going to start drinking more water, but what else can i do?

My normally blocked , dead looking skin has improved enormously by taking my cleanser off with a damp flannel every day. That extra bit of exfoliation really helps.

People even tell me I have nice skin now! As a former acne ridden teenager I still can't quite believe that but something must be working.

I've had acne since I was 11 (am now 38) and I've FINALLY discovered a solution. I developed rheumatoid arthritis so started taking a high dose fish oil supplement plus TWO one a day Floresse supplements and my skin totally cleared up (with no side effects unlike the pill etc). It's the Floresse which really makes the difference and I know this as if I run out of it, my skin quickly reverts to form. It's wonderful! Floresse is available in Boots (it is starflower oil, a stronger version of primrose oil). It's often on buy two get one free.

Seriously, you must try it. I've tried EVERYTHING for years and my skin was really really bad and this is the only thing that has worked. (well Dianette worked but it gave me brown patches on my skin and made me put on about 3 stone). The other good benefits of Floresse are that it is good for keeping your skin wrinkle free and also very good for PMT (and any inflammation which is why I started taking it in the first place).

Please, please try it. It has been like a miracle for me. Give it a bout a month to work. Good luck! Spots are dreadful for your confidence.I've been there for so many years.

Oh and I'd also recommend a gentle daily exfoliant. My sister trained as a beauty therapist and warned me never to use any exfoliant which contains 'natural' rough bits as apparently these are sharp and damage the skin. The best exfoliants are manmade as they do not tear the skin. I would recommend Dermalogica micro exfoliant (dear but v.good) or equally good but cheaper is the Body Shop's Vitamin C micro exfoliant (in an orange tube). Also use a non-comdegenic moisturiser afterwards.

A top tip I read is to use baking powder as an exfoliant. Just a pinch of it, mixed in with a creamy, preferably 'natural' cleanser (I use Origins Checks and Balances) is really good for the skin, and very cheap!
