Black dress is perfect. I feel like I look huge in it, but I know logically from my clothes that I am not, so it is fine.

We did fancy dress a few months ago with BIL & SIL as the scooby doo guys. SIL bagged the glam daphne outfit so I got velma, easy though - charity shop orange & red garb and fake specs (plus stuffed scooby teddy)

I went to a party as Cruella once. Bought a cheap Cruella wig from one of those fancy dress shops plus a long black plastic cigarette holder (don't need to smoke, just twirl it mysteriously). I wore a black dress with red shoes and I happened to own a black and white feather boa to finish the effect. Was very cool (IMHO). It was actually a very fun and cheap costume and allowed me to swan round the party all evening being bitchy.

Party throwers were very dog friendly so I also bought some 'dalmation' faux-fur from the market for about £2.50 and made my whippet a dalmation coat which caused much amusement. However you need the right kind of environment/dog/hosts to be able to do this bit!

Another costume I was at the party which was FANTASTIC was the childcatcher from chitty chitty bang bang. Basically a black tux, massive fake nose and chubba-chups lollies sellotaped to the ends of your fingers. Very impressive and not difficult to do.
