I currently use Liz Earle cleanser and I like it (most of the time) but I still have weeks where my skin is just crap (hormonal related, I suspect). Spotty (only one or at the most 2 at a time), which is rubbish but I also get horrid bumps under my skin. They aren't red, they are almost like blind whiteheads (no head to speak of), they pop up (attractively) along my jawline and I HATE them.

I drink loads of water, very rarely do I drink fizzy stuff or tea (never coffee), I exercise 4-5 times a week (swimming) and my diet is pretty balanced. I am 27, so well beyond the teenage skin stage (sob). My skin has always been useless, aesthetically speaking, and I long for clear, dewy, vestal virgin skin.

I've heard/seen a lot of hooha over the OCM and I want to try it but I have a few questions.

Is it all hype ?
Did it work for you ?
Any downsides ?
Where do I buy the stuff cheapest ?
Best blends ?

Thanks

Hmm. I did OCM for a couple of months or more, along with half of MN, it felt like! I've got very greasy skin and have always had lots of blackheads on nose and chin areas. Nothing can shift them. At first, I thought OCM was working for me - my skin felt less greasy during the day, and much softer. But it compensated after a few weeks. I couldn't seem to get the balance right. Worse yet, my blackheads never really shifted, and I'm convinced they actually got a little worse.

Does anyone remember reading a horror story linked to the original OCM thread? About a couple of sisters who tried OCM and ended up with a fuzz of white hair on their faces, which they think the Castor oil encouraged? Well, I do actually think this has happened to me, slightly. I've got lots of very pale but longer than normal hairs where I didn't have them, since doing OCM.

I've done the OCM since about April, started off first with just almond oil, but then progressed to using castor oil and vitamin E oil in the combination. I think it's probably at a ratio of 70:30 now. I do the OCM most nights, I've actually found it's great for getting makeup off and my eyelashes seem longer somehow now. I've always had open pores and while not tiny they are definitely much smaller than before and I also had very dry itchy skin along my jaw line and this has disappeared, only really comes back if I don't OCM for a couple of days.

I never had spotty skin but I had sad looking skin, for me it's worked, my skin looks great, everybody has noticed it and comments on how well I'm looking.

I was very sceptical to start with but was skint and needed to have something for my skin care routine. The OCM has definitely worked for me.

One thing that I do, is after I've done the OCM at night time I do use pure Vitamin E oil as a night moisturiser and that absorbs into my skin overnight - don't know whether it makes a huge difference but I always feel like my skin is glowing the next day.
