What bikini style for those with a smaller chest?

OK very small in truth!

Finally have my long awaited summer hol in two weeks and fancy a new bikini - not sure what style to go for though.

Not much left in the shops so trying to find one on-line and can't do lots of trying on.

What will make me look less like an ironing board? (BTW - I'm not super skinny so can't do one of those teeny tiny triangle things, just not much up top!)

why not go for a halter-neck top? I am small on top and they always give me a nice shape/cleavage where in reality I have none!

I was going to suggest a string bikini but you say its a no-no . Having said that, I have a Michael Kors string bikini which I bought from TK Maxx and that gives an amazing shape (bottoms are regular bikini briefs rather than tie-sides). The fabric is much more thicker and supportive than most and was only £20.

triangle supposed to be good for small boobs

bishboschone · 24/08/2009 17:37

oops didnt read..always try bravissimo because they do bra sizeds ,..may have a push up bikini?

Geocentric · 24/08/2009 17:47

No triangles - stay away from those!!! In all my many years as a small-boobed bikini wearer, I've found that halternecks and underwired tops are best...

How about a gel or liquid-filled bikini (just like a gel bra)? They're not the cheapest bikinis in the world but they seem to sell out really quickly so must be something in it. They do them at these places:

Max Cleavage

La Senza

KnowKnockers

Little Women

AA Lingerie

Halterneck sounds good and ruffles a great idea. Would love to know where you saw those?

Thanks for the links Waffle - will have a shop around there too.

padded halter, there were loads about earlier in the year, try ebay or figleaves.

millenniumfalcon · 24/08/2009 21:47

for example (ditch the cutesy bow thing)

Daffodilly · 24/08/2009 21:58

Rotten kids always want something - if it isn't food it is clean clothes or the like!

Yes know it is too late, fancy wanting to buy a bikini in AUGUST....

millenniumfalcon - liking that push up. Wonder if I will get a cleavage like the model. Now she is not a 36A is she!

Kate Moss was pictured in a lovely AP bandeau on a yacht somewhere and shes not over endowed...

millenniumfalcon · 24/08/2009 22:04

um, no i've got a bra the same style and while it doesn't provide the football boob look it does give me a convincing handful (32b so only remains convincing from a distance ) i'd team it with these but i imagine you're after something less august-bank-holiday-in-wales
