Have Uggs had their time now or will we be in them again this winter?

Mine are a bit knackered and I was wondering if I should get some more for this year though. I can't help feeling they might be hitting the passe list soon maybe...

damn err these for the WOW ! factor

Wow, forever, they are the blingiest Uggs I've ever seen!! I really like them but am not sure the sleepy rural area where I live is ready for those.

Sickening how much cheaper they are everywhere else though.. wish I knew someone who was off to the US with a big empty case..

I really hope they wane in popularity, they are clumpy slipper shoes. bleurgh.

Lulubee · 12/08/2009 22:26

Ugh, I see them and I just think 'chav'. And I'm not posh at all.

FfreckleFface · 12/08/2009 22:33

I love them. Cosy and comfy and smashing for pavement dog walks in the winter. Plus, little Ff (17 months) loves putting them on, and stuffing all her treasure into them...

pointydog · 12/08/2009 22:49

Everyone looks shit in them.

BunnyLebowski · 14/08/2009 15:30

They're absolutely hideous. People wear them because they're fashionable not because they look good. No sane person could think they look good.

It's amazing what the sheep mentality can do.

Where I live is swamped with trustafarians wearing them with really baggy trackies, big hoodies and designer sunglasses perched upon their perfectly highlighted £100 hairdos. They look ridiculous.

Supercherry · 14/08/2009 20:12

They're not really chavvy, not how I would define 'chav' anyway, chavs are more likely to wear Rockports or sportswear.

You only realy see Uggs on girly girls with fake tan and skimpy outfits or sensible, dress for comfort types- IMO.

I like them, but they're not original, no. So if you're aiming for cutting edge fashion then no, they are past it, but if you're looking for comfort then you'll get that.

I got chilblains this year, wearing wellies, two pairs of socks, in very frosty weather, the doctor recommended uggs - not that she was offering me a prescription or anything, I did buy a pair of sheepskin boots from animal or some brand like that(dark brown, they look like old lady boots to me), I do not feel good/stylish in them, but I live in the sticks, and the chilblains were unbelievably sore! So comfort and warmth wins.
