What does your Y5 /Y6 dd wear to school if you have a no uniform primary school?

I am curious too. My DD1 is starting pre-pre-school soon and (although not primary school age like yours podrick) I am still interested to know what to dress her in.

I think I read that 80% of primaries have compulsory uniform now so I guess there are not many parents left to answer my question!!

The girls at DS's no uniform school (S London state) wear exactly the same sort of clothes that they would be wearing at hme on a Saturday, I guess. Trousers and tops, jeans and tops, skirts and tops, ordinary shoes.

They don't wear 'party' gear, they all wear something between 'smart casual' and 'scruffy casual'. Most wear trousers or jeans, I think.

No uniform at our school, the older girls tend to wear jeans, shortish skirts with tights, t shirts, hoodies, uggs that kind of thing. The younger girls tend to wear more dresses and skirts.

DD starting in sept, she'll be expecting to wear her tutu and sparkly shoes most days

jewelsandgems If you are dressing your DD for pre school go for cheap, cheap, cheap. Dd (2.6) comes home covered in paint and glue nearly everyday.
Try to go for supermarket clothes or Primark / Matalan. Also try to go for darker colours. I had to throw out several stained tops recently and they were all cream or white ones. A lesson learnt there!!
NCT sales and second hand shops are good too.
I don't mind DD getting paint all over a Next top or M and S trousers if they only cost a couple of pounds.
Go for dresses and skirts if you like but trousers are practical.
DD has had good wear out of some leggings from H and M this spring and summer and they were (I think) £2.99 a pair
