Martinique dresses from Johnnie for me: comfy but make me feel and look as if I've made an effort.

nothing!
have had no luck on the shopping front at all this season

llareggub · 31/07/2009 11:55

An umbrella.

StinkyFart · 31/07/2009 11:59

yy to boden - I have the riviera and it's lush

aquavit · 31/07/2009 12:05

White Lilly dress from Fatface (it has pockets!) and leggings to wear under it and all other too-short things...no more thigh-chafing or shaving, lots more leg!

janeite · 31/07/2009 15:08

A white skirt with cowboys on it - love it!

MitchyInge · 31/07/2009 15:10

pimms and gin and gin and pimms and fruit and lemonade

BadgersArse · 31/07/2009 15:11

a kew t shirt.
Dorothy perkins slouch handbag this kind of thing
and some dangly ethnic earrings from claires that everyone admires

janeite · 31/07/2009 15:11

Mmmmm Pimms...I have a bottle unopened in the cupboard - but am too dosed up on tablets at the mo to indulge.

Ooh I bought a watermelon too!

squeaver · 31/07/2009 15:12

I've "discovered" Comptoire des Cottoniers this year. Love their long-sleeved tops.

And Rose, obv.

squeaver · 31/07/2009 15:13

That should be with an accent on the e. Not some random woman name Rose.

southeastastra · 31/07/2009 15:14

its so comfy over the shoulder.
kew t shirt good as is long and thick

Oliveoil · 31/07/2009 15:29

oooh g'day

australia is so fab, I have been on a picnic today with dd2 by the ocean spotting whales - non today boo hiss - but they have been seen by the beach up the road, mum and calf

shopping is fine tbh

I have mainly been wearing the stuff I got from uk (did big shop before I came) and it is winter atm - hahahahaha 22 degrees WINTER - so I just wear a hoodie in the morning until it warms up

tons of little shops with good stuff, tons of crap as well, probably have to pay more for something nice than in the uk

however, I live mostly in shorts and flip flops so I do not feel the need to go spending

I thought of you the other day when this woman went past in the WORST pair of jeans in the world, so unflattering

janeite · 31/07/2009 15:29

Purple tuttifruities - yum. Do they still make them?

I have really, really narrow feet, so Birkies are a disaster on me.

BadgersArse · 31/07/2009 15:29

How is your mum managing?
and MIL

Oliveoil · 31/07/2009 15:31

not meaning that you wear shit jeans (!!), just a fgs do you not have a mirror woman. It would have made a MN thread about crap jeans that reach your armpits

Oliveoil · 31/07/2009 15:33

my parents are coming out next year (my sister with fat wallet paying)

inlaws, hmmm, they really miss girls but talk (and skype) all the time. They can't come as MIL's dad is 90 and doddery and can't be left

it probably is hard on them but their family is scattered all over the world so they are used to distance tbh

macherie · 31/07/2009 15:41

Best buys for summer: Gap trench coat in sale, deep bluey purple, Massimo Dutti v v soft jersey scarf, ebay cashmere cardigan.

Worst waste of money for summer: pretty dresses, sparkly sandals, clothes that require temeratures over 15 degrees
