so, is this dress cool and relaxed in a funky sixties kind of way, or is it a sack?

I'd go for cool and relaxed in a retro sort of way. I like it. You couldn't wear it and have a bit of tum on you, though.

Blackduck · 15/07/2009 13:23

sack...

Lizzylou · 15/07/2009 13:23

I like it, but am not sure of the ruching, bustle thing on the back though.

Fimbo · 15/07/2009 13:24

Oh no like. Looks like something from Primark.

fishie · 15/07/2009 13:24

i can see why you like it but it is indeedy a sack. and unless you are 6' tall it would be a mid calf sack too.

SecretSlattern · 15/07/2009 13:25

sack

brimfull · 15/07/2009 13:25

nice from the back

the front is sack-like and you'd need to be tall and slim to carry of any semblance of style I think

pagwatch · 15/07/2009 13:25

the idea is good but the fabric for the metallic bit is dreadful and looks really cheap. It is also cut really badly and hangs really badly, even on a model. If that is the best photo they could manage it is going to be even worse in RL .
Therefore = sack.

whyOwhy · 15/07/2009 13:27

Ah no, have tried it on (in another colour), and it hits the knee perfectly. Ruching thing barely visible, just gives a tiny bit of waist at the back. Tum not really an issue, just not sure about the whole effect! You lot aren't helping, can't you all decide one thing and stick to it?

OK, cross posted, more sacks than likes by now - that helps!

another vote for sack here.. i dont think that would be very flattering on anyone

VinoEsmeralda · 15/07/2009 18:22

sack here too

ButterbeerAndLemon · 15/07/2009 18:22

On Kate Moss it would be the cool retro one. On me it would be a sack.

ButterbeerAndLemon · 15/07/2009 18:23

and an unflattering sack, at that.

ToutFucker · 15/07/2009 18:24

sack

doesn't hang right, looks cheap and nasty

only Alexa Chung could get away with that, worn with pixie ankle boots, a choppy fringe and lots of kohl eyeliner

not for me, with my easy short hair, Birkies and 40 yr old vibe

flier · 15/07/2009 18:25

sorry but i think it looks very cheap and nasty

DarrellRivers · 15/07/2009 18:26

sack

ihavenosecrets · 15/07/2009 18:26

My immediate thought was sack. It looks like something I have rustled up on the sewing machine and for someone who can barely sew a button on that is not good.

squeaver · 15/07/2009 18:28

Sack and, really, does anyone think those shoes look good with it (or indeed anything)?

I hate glads.

Lulubee · 15/07/2009 19:18

A sacky sack from sackville. Kate and Alexa would look good in it but that's because they're models

Greensleeves · 15/07/2009 19:19

It is a sack even a potato would object to

put it from your mind

Clure · 15/07/2009 19:39

yes a bit sack like - not enough structure, needs a few "darts" to give it some shape!

HollyBunda · 15/07/2009 19:42

that is a sack and needs ironing!

HuffwardlyRouge · 15/07/2009 19:43

Oh good lord that is a terrible dress.

ProfessorPhantomPlopper · 15/07/2009 19:48

Horrid I'm afraid.
