I saw these yesterday and was just about to buy one when the roughest looking woman walked in with the one I was going to buy and put me right off (yes, I am a snob - sorry).

However, I did rather like the grean flowerey ish one so might just have to go back cause it is so sodding hot I need something cool to wear.

weepootle · 01/07/2009 19:43

Another question: are the buttons just sewn on or do they actually open? (breastfeeding)

blinks · 01/07/2009 20:02

much prefer this one

DomesticBlobess · 01/07/2009 20:54

Have the red spotty one and love it - and only £8!! Been wearing it this week with red birkenstocks and have a navy cardi to go over when it cools down a bit.

Fits well and I'd say knee length rather than calf length - i'm 5ft 8.

Get one - a great dress for about the same as a pack of nappies - bargain!

Heathcliffscathy · 01/07/2009 20:56

i don't like the bib bit on the first one. like the red one.

asda do great clothes sometimes.

i'm still wearing a white embroidered one i bought 2 years ago for £12.

weepootle · 01/07/2009 20:59

Ooh that sounds lovely how you've accessorised, DomesticBlobess.

Now, tell me - do the buttons open?

DomesticBlobess · 01/07/2009 21:06

weepootle - the buttons do open - on my red spotty one there are 3 which open down to the empire line band. hope that helps

Lizzylou · 01/07/2009 21:23

Ooh, good, am 5ft 9" so these should be a good length.

You don't live in lancs though doyou domestic?
Am going to copy your accessorising too

DomesticBlobess · 02/07/2009 12:57

don't live in lancs so copy away!

though noticed a couple of other asda dresses in the school playground this morning - word has it our asda has sold out of most styles except in size 20 plus - so can no longer waft around pretending to have individual style...

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 02/07/2009 13:00

I've got this one.

geordieminx · 02/07/2009 13:03

I bought black and cream spotty one last week - but as I'm 5"1 it was big in a few places so cut the straps at the back to make a halter neck, and took the bottom frill off to take it to just above the knee. Much better

DomesticBlobess · 02/07/2009 13:06

ooh - geordiemix - sounds great and you've made it more individual - you've been taking lessons from gok haven't you?

geordieminx · 02/07/2009 13:11

I ave to take most straps up as have short shoulder to bust measurement, but halternexk was easier and looks nice

cheesesarnie · 02/07/2009 13:15

i love about 4 of them, but hate the rest.they dont come in my size though and the ones that do are more party dresses.i need feeding up.

Jewelsandgems · 02/07/2009 13:47

Saw them and liked the red spotty one. BUT I also saw too many (ok, 2) really rough-looking women in the same dress, in the same shop, at the same time and I had to put it back.

And it was the only one I really liked.

I have been betting alot of wear out of my £22 next dress though so it is true that cheaper dresses can still look great.

tinseltot · 02/07/2009 13:55

In precisely 1 stones time i feel sure that i can make that red spotty one look show stopping! Am going to pick it up. At £8 who cares if it gets covered in baby vom?

Lizzzombie · 02/07/2009 15:18

I have the red spotty one
Its a funny length though. And its a bit low, and the straps are a bit long. (its not me who is too tall with a short body obviously!)
Its also a bit see through. So I will have to wear big pants under it.

geordieminx · 02/07/2009 15:55

Well there you go lissie - take off the frilly bit and cut the straps to make a halterneck!

noddyholder · 02/07/2009 15:57

They look like an acorn antiques apron

mynameis · 02/07/2009 16:22

I saw a mum at school in the green one and it made her look enormous.

Oh my god hope that wasn't me, In my defense I am preggers although not far enough along to use it as an excuse

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 02/07/2009 19:04

Not you, she isn't pregnant.

wiggletastic · 02/07/2009 19:27

I saw someone else wearing mine today (while I was wearing it of course!) but it was in M&S not Asda. Somehow that made me feel better about it.

jemart · 03/07/2009 10:15

hmmmm nope, don't like those.

ilove · 06/07/2009 09:28

I just ordered three of them online...will probably end up sending them back though!

reducedfatkettlechip · 06/07/2009 14:24

I got the black spotty one last week and ordered the green and brown one online as they only had size 20 left. It arrived today and is really nice. I am usually a clothes snob but I promise these are genuinely lovely, nice to wear and really flattering.

I also found the straps a good couple of inches too long though and I'm 5ft 7.
