Nope - mine's a leather rain/sun hat in an aussie style, and the chap in the local shop always laughs at me.

IkeaSnake · 29/06/2009 22:38

no one looks nice in these - are often the preserve of the mum who is organic and wears sensible sandals, has old style jeans and always has a rice cake

malfoy · 29/06/2009 22:39

I shall look out for some on the school run.

LadyOfWaffle · 29/06/2009 22:39

iMissEdith · 29/06/2009 22:41

What the fark should I wear on me head then?

TheMadHouse · 29/06/2009 22:41

I have a cowboy hat

hobbgoblin · 29/06/2009 22:41

I knew you meant that kind before you even linked. It's the Louise Lombard look. As in House of Elliott.

And no, I don't wear one. I don't wear any hat in Summer but always do in Winter.

Aussie style one sounds okay though. Kinda edgy as opposed to drippy.

MarthaFarquhar · 29/06/2009 22:42

I do - albeit sans embroidery .

iMissEdith · 29/06/2009 22:42

And you got all that from a hat?

What are you, MysticIkeaSnakeMeg?

IkeaSnake · 29/06/2009 22:42

I dont.
they make me look like a lamp.

OP posts:
chevre · 29/06/2009 22:42

i wear this, it is a 'statement piece'

IkeaSnake · 29/06/2009 22:44

LOl
i dont wear one.
i find they make me hotter

OP posts:
iMissEdith · 29/06/2009 22:44

Please find me a summer hat that is not an upside down flower pot or a baseball cap or something that makes me look deranged.

hobbgoblin · 29/06/2009 22:45

Indeed chevre. Indeed.

The lampy kind are worn with mid shin length shapeless dresses, often in gingham.

onepieceofcremeegg · 29/06/2009 22:45

I don't do hats, ever, not even for weddings.

Dd2 loves hats, she hands round a selection as we leave the house. In the absence of a suitable hat for me, she tries to loan me her piglet winter bobble hat.

brimfull · 29/06/2009 22:47

no don't wear one

they give me hat hair

and sweaty

brimfull · 29/06/2009 22:47

use a parasol instead

iMissEdith · 29/06/2009 22:48

This?

This?

This?

MarthaFarquhar · 29/06/2009 22:48

tbh I would be please to look like La Lombard. Mine is sadly more Richard Ashcroft.

LovelyRitaMeterMaid · 29/06/2009 22:49

I have one like this but in a different colour and with the odd flower on it.

DollyPardonme · 29/06/2009 22:51

OMG - Ikea I match most of your tick list apart from DH doesn't have the headphones.

I don't have one of those bucket hats though, they're just soo knit your own recycling. cowboy hat for me.

pollywobbledoodle · 29/06/2009 22:54

oh god.....i like ikeasnake's and LOVE the 3rd of imissedith's.....however am not the right side of 45 or 12 stone and the hats would fail massively with my hot sweaty face and body under them

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 29/06/2009 22:55

I don't tick any of the checklist apart from I wear Birkies, which I suspect may count as sensible sandals.

I'm only 5ft2" so any hats with large brims look daft on me. I wouldn't wear a hat on the school run but I do wear those sorts of hats on holiday, days out, etc.

Maybe I should get a fedora instead.
