Birkenstocks again - are the Milanos the best for walking any distance in?

I'm a birkenstock virgin but I really can't keep my feet in trainers for another day...I walk LOADS with baby, dog etc and don't want to be in pain - can't deal with floppy offy flip flops - would Birkenstock Milanos do me do you think??

I find the Arizona & Gizeh fine for walking a lot

Arizona or Gizeh here too. Not Madrids.

fishie · 29/06/2009 21:56

i have gizeh, high arch, long toes and narrow heel. madrids are for narrower feet.

you will need to break them in a bit and will probably get some sort of blister on ball of foot but i walked 4k in my latest pair direct from the shop and nothing dreadful happened.

EldonAve · 29/06/2009 22:42

milano is definitely sold for kids
not sure about men

IkeaSnake · 29/06/2009 22:43

oh gizeh are vile though

Caz10 · 30/06/2009 22:28

Can heartily recommend Birkenstock Tanegas for walking miles in - look like Milanos but with thinner straps and soft footbed. Got mine from here. They also have a few other styles with heel straps - I couldn't walk any distance without as your toes try and grip the shoe on and it's not comfy.

I was a Birkenstock virgin til this year and can't believe I hung onto my fakes for so long...

Arizona but only when your feet and arches are used to them
