my cracked heels are dire

help me. what should I use? Pumice, stone, cream??

Cream, Scholl do one, had this a few years ago!

I had a chiropody appt this week (1st one ever)

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend it!

My heels are like my 2yr olds now

I wonder if I should see a chiropodist, I have the most disgusting thick hard skin on my heels, the ball of my foot and behind my big toe . Its disgusting!

Any advice appreciated. (Sorry for hi-jacking, thought I might get some advice here too).

The chiropody appt will sort the dry skin

They use what looks like a craft knife to SLICE away the dead skin

(Strangely satisfying though)

How one chooses chiropody for a career, I don't know...

Oh yes chiropody sounds good. I always assumed they were for more medical reasons then cosmetic. How much was it bernard if you don't mind me asking?

And use a 'buffer' machine thingy to soften the skin after all the slicing

You can do it yourself - I do although I should do it more often. Soak feet in warm soapy water for 10-15mins. Scrape with similar knife kind of thing that chiropodists use. Very hard to cut yourself. Get all worst skin off, then use pumice stone to smooth it all out, exfoliating foot scrub, heel balm.

Then walk all over house collecting dust and crap on oiled feet

Have you tried a Ped Egg?
I got one off Ebay for about £3 delivered and it has transformed my hideous feet.
I never wear socks (even with boots in winter) and am always barefoot, even outside.
I now have smooth heels and no rough scaly skin at all.
Worth a try?

I think I'll try a DIY job with a ped egg first

I thought my heels needed slight attention- but hers- my God! The hard skin was at least a cm thick...

do these people never look down and behind????

What is a ped egg? I've been putting flexitol on my heels and have sanded them down with a foot file thingy but heels still look akin to the grand canyon.

How long have you been doing it for? Mine got into shape in two or three weeks.

I have discovered that something I had on prescription for ds's verruccas also removes hard skin. It seems to be salycilic acid [asprin] Used it on hard to reach huge callous on sole. peeled off after a week.
Flexitol, scholl cream, foot file. all used regularly here too,

Flexitol works! Lather on and sleep with cotton socks.

The Scholl foot file that has a curved head has worked wonders here, better than any other foot file I have used. Then loads of Flexitol every other night, and put it on when you get into bed so it all sinks in.
