Birkenstock doesn't fit me - need equivlanet - please help!

I so want to buy Birkenstocks but they just don't fit my feet! Have a pair kind of like Birkenstock which I bought years ago and can't track down the brand (Dockland) on the web at all. I've had them for ten years and they're dying and won't last the summer ...

Please, please, will anyone take pity?

In what way don't they fit? if it's width they sell wide fitting birkenstocks.

You have to size down in Birkies.

I think they're too wide on the base and too high on the sandally bit if that makes sense. Basically my feet are an odd shape! I've just spotted on the Birkenstock website tht they do narrow width and will try find somewhere I can try on a narrow pair, but so far any pairs I've tried just don't look right. The pair I have now, are rubber and leather soled and essentially fatter and chunkier than Birkensocks. They also have three wide straps and so cover up more of the top of my foot, which given I don't have pretty feet I prefer!
