Pic in profile for a little while!
Always fancied going lighter ie blonde but not bleached bright blonde!
But i don't know how it would look or if i am brave enough!

So i am giving myself to MN to decide what i should do.

DO you have any grey hairs and how old are you?

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 11:37

No grey hairs that i know of and i am 31. (how old do i look lol!)

I wasn't sure if you were late 20's or early 30's but you have totally fab skin and great bone stucture.

I only asked because I am a good 10 years older than you and have naturally dark hair. I started going lighter 2 years ago in response to the ever-spreading grey and love it. It is so much more softer and flattering. My hair is now a sort of hazel colour with paler highlights. Personally I think you would great with sort of caramel-colour hair.

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 11:43

Thanks.
Will have a look at caramel colour.

Hi Tortoise, I was just going to say caramel/ toffee/ or reddish high/lowlights, then saw that that's what Talbot said. You have a nice tanned complexion, so could probably get away with something quite warm.

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 16:54

Thanks .Sounds good.
Anymore opinions?

I'm a hairstylist and when I worked in a salon I specialised in cutting and colouring. Are you doing it yourself or going to a salon? A colourist can do some chunky high/lowlights of more than one shade to compliment your skintone and style, this would suit your age as you're a baby [smile. You can get a free consultation at any decent salon. If I were you I'd go along and see what you think of their recommendations.

I think some blonde and red/brown highlights would look nice. Just to beak it up and give texture and warmth

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 22:10

Hi. I will go to my local hairdressers to have it done. Would be nice to go in with some sort of idea of what i want for a change though.

Like the 3rd pic down here

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 22:18

Thanks Dalrymps. I did have blonde highlights done once.
Would highlights look better than an all over colour?

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 24/06/2009 22:30

Well, as another poster said you could have highlights and lowlights . I would sayt the advantage of highlights is that they are less obvious when they grow out so don't have to be done as often and you don't get such a definate line iyswim.

Tortoise · 24/06/2009 22:36

Thanks, will have to have a longer think about it i think.

Dalrymps · 24/06/2009 22:43

The hairdressers will have some good ideas for you i'm sure. Good idea to look throigh mags and tear out pics of hair you like, easier than trying to describe it.

Tortoise · 25/06/2009 13:14

Thanks.
Removing pic now.
