New Birkenstocks - bad idea to wear to pick Dcs up from school ?

Got a new pair of Birkenstocks today, the Papillio Gizeh if that makes any difference to their ability to go for a walk!

Would it be advisable to not wear them on the school run until i have worn them in a bit?
Never had a pair before so am unsure.

Would be 20mins walk there and 20 mins back. They feel fine round the house but not sure if the walk might be too long!

Those MNers in the know, please advise

Put the Birkies down and back away. Instead put old pair of slippers or worn in trainers or flip flips on. I guarantee that at the end of the first 20 minutes your feet will feel like someone set fire to them and you will walk back home carrying them and avoiding dog poop on the pavement.

Wear round the house for a good week or so first

Eyeballs is spot on.

I hobbled around in mine for a couple of weeks before braving the school run.

Eek, put the birkies back on, quick!!!!!

I love them already, am not going to take them off till the last second when i am walking out the door. Anyone know how long a pair will last? Am thinking of maybe investing in another pair in a different style!

Eyeballs, love the username
