cornsilk · 12/06/2009 22:39

cornsilk · 12/06/2009 22:40

Haven't seen you on here for aaaaages MrsSeanBean!

Clure · 12/06/2009 22:42

dark blue skinnies and these

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2009 22:43

Hello Cornsilk! No I've been at work (call of the crunch). Nice to be back.

I don't like skinnies. They remind me of those stretch jeans we wore in the 80's that made your bum look massive.

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2009 22:44

Those are nice sandals for a good price Clures!

I alas can't wear skinnies. Well in my head I can, where I am size 8 and look like a Toast model.

cookielove · 12/06/2009 22:45

i don't like skinnies either thats why i would suggest straight cut, i more flattering look but still smart

cornsilk · 12/06/2009 22:45

Aha RL! I've also returned to the world of full time work and I bloody love it!

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2009 22:52

If I had my time over again I would NOT have a year off on maternity leave [shifty guilt emoticon] I love DS to bits but it drove us both nuts in retrospect (apart from the MNing that is!)

May I add that the tunic is gorgeou-licious in RL. I have been fondling it for a couple of weeks, am waiting to pounce in the sale (I hope).

Hi Mrs SB Tis me again!

How about navy or white crops? (the kind which just skim your ankle rather than mid-calf)

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2009 22:58

Ooh, like the sound of white crops. What do you think is best footwear with crops Mrs JS?

OP posts:
cookielove · 12/06/2009 22:59

now when you say something that skims your ankle, to me i am hearing ankle swinger and oh dear god NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

cornsilk · 12/06/2009 22:59

Okay!

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 12/06/2009 23:35

Mrs SB!

No Cookielove.......not ankle swingers! Think Audrey Hepburn. Crops which finish just above the ankle and are straight legged rather than skinny fit (ie not hugging the ankle in extremely unflattering way to anyone larger than a 6). Also I think anything that finishes mid-calf is just not chic.

MrsSeanBean · 13/06/2009 07:36

The shoes that Clures linked to earlier in thread.... how long is their 'shelf life' - i.e. how long can you reasonably expect to wear before they start to look tatty?

I thought they were nice but have always been dubious of cheaper shoes, not in a snobby way, but from the point of view that it could be false economy, as my shoes do get a battering (I walk a lot). Although maybe you are not suppoed to walk in high heeled sandals.

OP posts:
Clure · 13/06/2009 09:14

I've bought those pink shoes so I'll begin testing the shelf life!!
Seriously though, I don't wear leather (vegan) and so my options are always cheap plastic shoes. I have a couple of pairs of wedges that I pull out each summer (new look and peacocks) which are still going strong. They probably wouldn't last as long as a decent pair of leather sandals but for £12 I can buy another pair!

MrsSeanBean · 15/06/2009 08:15

Thanks Clure!

Primark have fabulous white patent stilletos for £9 at the moment- If you want to get your pins out they would look great with that outfit. I bought some for a wedding and got loads of compliments on them as they look expensive
