Is it me or do all curvy women look more tarty in summer clothes?

I am a size 10, but a curvy one. I have 32E boobs and a good size bum and hips.
My SIL is size 10 but a straight up and down size 10, 32A boobs and hardly any bum at all.

She wears boob tubes, strappy low tops and little shorts and just looks summery and cool.

I try and wear those things and look like a slut with curves everywhere!

Snot fair [pout]

I would love to have smaller boobs just for the clothes.

I have just lost two and a half stone but as I am bfeeding my boobs are still an H cup. I look ridiculous I will only ever wear black tops because of it.

I need to find some of that self love cherryblossom.

Hi Macherie!

No. I had to go looking for a pair of shoes and a dress instead. It's still on my list. I've been paying close attention to shirts seen in the street, however. Haven't seen anything I like as much as the Hampstead Heath one.

Btw - saw your other thread. Didn't join in because advice seemed good but ... blimey! ... you have my full sympathy. Hope you had a lovely day today.

it's all that luscious forbidden to be seen or loved (in today's society) flesh unfurled in it's full creamy glory

we see it as forbidden or slutty as that sort of buxom largesse can only be misunderstood or pitied today

well, I think so, so there!!

( sorry op)

Thanks, the last few days have been a real eye opener, but the support I got on here has really helped so much.

As for your shirt, when you find the perfect one and you will, buy two, one for now, one for when that one starts to go grey. I do that for lots of things I really love, means that I don't end up keeping the item for special occassions, because I've one in reserve!

Good to be back in style and beauty, the only area of MN I vaguely have a clue about

Laquitar · 02/06/2009 20:33
  • Linen trousers, well fitted, wide leg to balance the curves.
  • lovely high wedges
  • light tunics
  • vests with a light bolero
  • long skirts that are tight up to the knee and then go floaty
  • large handbag and long bright necklaces.

I thought i ll do a Trinny and Sussana for you

Just to cheer you larger breasted women up, the good thing about having borks (big norks) is that post baby, your boobs are definitely bigger than your belly. I had TWO 3 or 4 month periods post babies where my belly stuck out further than my boobs. I REALLY felt quite weirdly shaped then.

MrsTittleMouse · 02/06/2009 20:37

Nahui - have you tried the bravissimo clothing line here? I don't think that they go up to 22, but there's a very good chance that you wouldn't be a 22 in their range (as it's your bust that you struggle to fit).

I love Bravissimo, the curvy girls' friend.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 02/06/2009 21:36

I wish bravissimo would improve the colour range of their flippin strappy tops though. Oh and knock the price down by £5

blithedance · 02/06/2009 22:03

Yes I wish Bravissimo had a slightly larger colour range. There is a healthy trade on Ebay though, I have just picked up two tops in my stupid size, one with tags still on.

SallyJayGorce · 02/06/2009 22:13

I look like a Medieval barmaid from a Carry On film. Somewhere between Hattie Jacques and Barbara Windsor. I used to have nice little summery breasts but now I look like a right old slapper.

PinkTulips · 02/06/2009 22:20

i'm a 10/12 with 34F boobs and a fat curvy rear end and i could care less how trampish i look in my strappy summer tops.... they keep my gigantic boobs cool

Pannacotta · 02/06/2009 22:26

I am the opposite with no waist, small boobs and flat bum and feel quite unfeminine/boyish. I yearn for tits and a tiny waist!

I think that curvy women look better in most clothes as having a small waist is so much prettier and more womanly.

But I do do know it is hard to find flattering tops which fit over large boobs and sympathise on that front...

ilove · 02/06/2009 22:34

I bought this today

www.bravissimo.com/products/clothing/dresses-and-skirts/bravissimo/bp25-details.aspx?colour=Green

I'm a 34JJ and it looks wonderful

brokenspacebar · 02/06/2009 22:41

I am 10/12, 32F, but I never think I look tarty. A really good bra (Freya) makes my norks look a reasonable size in proportion to my body, but I avoid anything very low cut, or wear a vest/alter it to give more nork coverage.

I never attempt to wear things that suit people with small norks. I probably dress slightly more conservatively, because of my figure, but it is a comfort thing.

hellzapoppin · 02/06/2009 23:09

Tis why you never see big tits in fashion magazine spreads.
Only ever on the top shelf.

Know your place, big norks - it's not wearing Prada it's spread-eagled in Playboy.

(and I'm a 32FF still waiting for the day any glossy mag does a bikini spread using a model with breasts about the same cup size as me. Oh and that glossy mag can't be Maxim).

MrsMerryHenry · 02/06/2009 23:13

Not in summer clothes, fukschticks, but in tary symmer clothes, yes we do!

I'm curvy on the lower half, and have good, solid thighs. I could NEVER wear a miniskirt with bare legs, and am thankful for the leggings fashion at the mo, as it makes me look less sexual and slightly more bohemian. However I don't do straight short skirts, even with tights/ leggings - only a-line or flared. This is all due to my fabulous African Arse.

MrsMerryHenry · 02/06/2009 23:14

I really am not handling typing well, and not a drop of booze in my blood either.

Not in summer clothes, fukschticks, but in tarty summer clothes, yes we do!
