How many bras is normal?

Normally when I get new bras it is to add them to others, but today when I bought maternity ones I just bought 2 and intend to wear them alone for the next 4 months. Is that skanky?

Do you keep old bras hoping you'll fit them again one day? I think all my non maternity ones are ones from before I had my first DC and so have been wearing ill fitting bras for ages.
How do you dispose of old bras that are too cheap to ebay yet still OK enough to be worn if they fit?

3 breast feeding bras: 1 to wear, 1 in the wash, 1 in the drawer ready to go.

Matching sets may happen one day when I grow up .

Have 3 everyday bras which I love although they are grey which I will wear until I die - 'tis ok, DH prefers me without bra, anyway .

about 10

Do people really buy 2nd hand bras on ebay? must be against listing policies surely?

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 27/05/2009 01:07

I have about 10. I wouldn't fancy a 2nd hand one.

jemart · 27/05/2009 11:09

plimple - I reckon if they don't fit anymore it is time to bin them.

plimple · 28/05/2009 16:04

I just can't stand the waste of binning them.

need to find some alternative use then as unlikely to get many takers for used bra, carefully handcrafted novelty handbag anyone?

Biglips · 29/05/2009 23:40

ive got 5

Sazisi · 29/05/2009 23:44

I have around 10: about 4 very cheap cotton m&s ones (but they're so comfy!) and about 6 very beautiful sexy expensive bras DH has bought me. I almost always just wear the cheapo ones. Poor DH

HadMyTwo · 29/05/2009 23:54

Heard or read somewhere that OXFAM take the 2nd hand bras. I used to bin the old ones but put them in my charity bag last time. Have four for BF at the moment, though am hanging on to some prettier old ones in case I get back to that size.

TheYearOfTheCat · 29/05/2009 23:58

Yes, Oxfam are crying out for 2nd hand bras. Because they are technically quite challenging items to make (all that engineering), there is huge demand for them in Africa.

There was a piece about this on Radio 4 last month.

I have a lot, not sure of numbers, buy them with 2 pairs of pants and then always match. I had lots of bf-ing bras too - have a horror of feeling grubby partic when feeding.
