Where shall I go & what shall I buy?

Right, I've got 6 hours child-free (sadly not baby-free) shopping time tomorrow and not a clue where to go or what to get.

I am breastfeeding and will be forever quite a while so need ready boob access, I'm 5'3" and am skinny. I am now a SAHM but when I was working favoured well-fitting, fairly structured clothes and don't like anything too casual. I hate wearing flat shoes as I think they're all clumpy & ugly (esp when you have size 3 feet) but am forced to wear them as I carry he baby in a sling.

Having been pregnant last summer & subsequently totally broke I have been ignoring shops and magazines and I haven't a clue where to start. I'm going to Kingston where there are most shops, where shall I concentrate my efforts & what should I be looking for?

OK, my starter for 10 - Comptoir de Cotonnier have a shop in Kingston, I'd say that's worth a look.

I killed your thread - sorry.

Well, Macherie linked to some lovely ballet pumps (L. K. Bennett) on another thread. Though you sound as though you're dreading low heels, they looked to me as though they'd sweeten the pill.

After ballet pumps, there are the ubiquitous converse. No-one will mock you if you get a pair of converse because everyone wears them. It is almost a foot uniform for our times.

In the realm of tops, how about stripey? Both Kew and Jigsaw have v. nice stripey tops in at the moment, either with long or short sleeves.

Rather amusingly, I sat down today at school and noticed that in the group of mothers I was sitting with, we were all, to a woman, wearing stripey tops.
