I need a nice dress that is smart casual and I love this. I have fairly big norks though and MIL said it would look awful.

It's a good dress, fine with boobs - go for it.

Just don't forget the Gok tip on boobs in maxis - put your bra on, put the dress on, slip the bra off - and your boobs will be sitting where they should be

(have not tried this as am small up top, but we trust Gok )

how big is big norks? you don't want to be hanging out of it at either side..

I think looking at it you could maybe wear a black strapless bra underneath which should solve any probs

yeah, get a good halterneck bra and if you like it go for it.

my own personal tip is that if I'm wearing a top with a back that can slip down I do two things

1. the hanger straps are normally at the side of the dress so I tuck these into my bra and pull them right down so dress is 'pinned' to top of bra under arms

2. put a little bit of lingerie tape on the back of my bra and stick the top of the dress to it

no 2 doesn't work on all materials though as sometimes you can see the shape of the tape through v thin material.

I am a 32/4 E. I would look hideous in that. That doesn't necessarily mean that you would though!

Would look hideous on me. My arse is too sticky outy and my norks too big - I doubt I would be able to find a bra that suited just right as it would need to be really low or wrap round at the back

No - maxi dresses are for the tall and slender I think. I suspect I would look like Tweedledum AND Tweedledee combined in one.
