I have started a new job.

I have to wear a fleece for work (in an office )

BUT I am also not allowed to wear pumps, what kind of shoes can I wear???

Got to wear smartish trousers...

It's bloody stupid, I feel sooo scruffy.

By pumps do you mean trainers? If you can't wear those how about something like this

not in red, but balck. With black trews

drinkmoretea · 19/05/2009 17:36

Are they not a bit frumpy?

(I work with loads of twenty somethings..)

They are nice boots but don't think they would go with smart trousers, maybe more with jeans. Your 'uniform' sounds pretty awful. Why are they making you wear a fleece? A fleece doesn't go with smart trousers or smart shoes (or anything else really). This is a problem indeed....

MadameCastafiore · 19/05/2009 21:17

these

I am in love with them and am trying to think of a reason to buy the black and the silver that will wash with DH!

wiggletastic · 19/05/2009 21:17

Congrats on new job though, sounds good apart from the uniform problem.

mrsmaidamess · 19/05/2009 21:33

Yes the ones I linked to are frumpy. I hold my hands up. I can't get past the fleece. sorry. My fingers won't let me link to nice shoes, knowing you will be wearing one...

Clure · 19/05/2009 21:37

oooh madamcastafiore I LOVE those satin pumps!

drinkmoretea · 19/05/2009 21:49

MC - you really shouldn't have shown me that link!!!!! They are gorgeous!!

Those satin pumps are lush, but again, we come back to the problem of the dreaded fleece.... I feel its almost insurmountable.

drinkmoretea · 19/05/2009 21:51

Thanks Madeamess!!!

re trousers, I could just about get away with cords (if they're smart!)

Aargh!! Maybe I'll just refuse to wear the fleece (horrible things anyway)

Nice pumps, black cords or very smart tailored trousers, dreaded fleece and scarf tied artfully at neck - nose in air and try and imagine you have on a designer blazer and not a man made monstrosity!
