Hair dye dilemma - what to do, what to do?

I have lovely, shiny dark hair (even if I do say so myself) - very dark brown, verging on the black. I have never dyed it in my life and have always been very happy with it.

However, inevitably, my grey hairs are now starting to stand out like shining beacons around my parting and has got well passed the point of being able to pull them out.

I don't want to spend hundreds of pounds getting my hair dyed but am scared of an at home kit blunder.

What are my options ladies? What should I do?

I just have a semi-permanent colour (so it grows out rather than fades). I have no idea what glossing is!

Home dye root touch up kits for you parting.
If you are too nervous to go the whole hog get a semi-permanent colour which washes out after a certain number of shampoos.

Home hair-dying is prety easy, only likely to have a 'blunder' if you try to make serioos changes to your colour or do highlights.

Why do you think it will cost hundreds?

I used to do mine myself because of the grey and it was OK. I've recently reverted back to salon visits and it costs £58 with a cut and colour. And I have a lot of hair.

It is obviously loads more than doing it myslf but they do do a better job than me.

OK, I might give it a go. Is Davina my best bet?

Ooh, £60 doesn't sound too bad. Not sure why I thought it would be hundreds. Never really looked into it that closely!

Just checked my hair salon price list and I don't really understand any of it

What's glossing? Is that what I need? Or tinting?
