I'd love a few comments on this Mulberry bag - I've bought it but I'm having a dilemma about whether to return it. I love it, and I wanted something classic that I'd have for many years, but is it a bit 'stuffy'?? I don't mind 'timeless' but don't want 'frumpy'!!
Thanks in advance.

(Hope link works, I've never linked before.)

Frumpy imo. But how can you return it if you bought it on ebay? Or did you buy it somewhere else?

mummytoshrimps · 17/05/2009 20:01

They have a 14-day no quibble return policy.

It's ok, but not inspiring
Lovely colour though

rubyslippers · 17/05/2009 20:07

it isn't my favourtie mulbeery TBH

it is a wee bit dull

macherie · 17/05/2009 20:07

Hmm, I would be inclined to return it, and buy a mulberry bayswater instead. It is an absolute classic, and will NEVER go out of style. You might have to pay a little more but you'll have a much nicer bag.

tattycoram · 17/05/2009 20:07

Oh right. For what it's worth, I think if you don't love something straight away, you never really well. Especially something expensive. Put it in the back of your wardrobe for a few days and see if you keep thinking about it longingly.

brimfull · 17/05/2009 20:09

s'alright
nothing special imo
but I have never spent that much on a handbag and would really want to lurve it for that much

mummytoshrimps · 17/05/2009 20:10

Yes, I know what you mean. I'm not keen on bags like the Roxanne, with zips and buckles galore, and I do love classic and elegant styles (ho ho, I can dream!) but this would be a more fulfilling bag if it had a loop or a buckle, perhaps...on the other hand I fell in love with it and thought it was perfect, so I wish these niggly thoughts hadn't entered my head!
Thanks for all replies...

bump...then I'll retire and deliberate!

Update - I sent it back today...still not sure but too much money to dither.

So what else could I get?!!

jemart · 19/05/2009 17:54

What about an Elgin? there's a few of those on ebay at the moment. Also have a look on this website

Flamesparrow · 19/05/2009 17:56

tis a bit meh

mummytoshrimps · 19/05/2009 20:03

The Elgin, Flame, or the one I've sent back?!

I do like the Elgin but I'm a fussy one and don't like not having a zipped top on my bag!

OP posts:
rubyslippers · 19/05/2009 20:05

yum

mummytoshrimps · 19/05/2009 20:10

That is gorgeous...although I'd have it in some shade of brown (gotta stay true to my Virgo-ness).

Going to check out the website properly now.

frazzledgirl · 19/05/2009 20:18

ruby, I am drooling - that is gorgeous!

Most unfair of you...

OP, I have to agree with the general consensus - the bag is nice but meh. Sorry.

mummytoshrimps · 19/05/2009 20:21

My fave is the chestnut Cher...but it's much too expensive
Could I make them an offer?! Thought not...

OP posts:
mummytoshrimps · 19/05/2009 21:34

No probs frazzled - it's been sent back anyway!

Thanks for all replies.

(What does 'meh' mean btw?)

OP posts:
Wilkiepedia · 19/05/2009 21:35

Meh means kind of impartial, nothing to get excited about, dull.

It's nice but a bit...meh!

mummytoshrimps · 20/05/2009 20:10

Got it! Thanks.
