Wellies for really big fat legs!! Can I just cut cheap plastic ones off a bit lower??

Am thinking I need some urgent wellies, but all wellies don't fit over my mahoosive calfs!! This is mde particularly worse by the fact that I'm a size 4 or 5 and they presume your calfs are slimmer!

I saw some cheap stripy ones in Asda for £10, just the plasticky ones. Could I but these and cut them off to high ankle height with normal skissors and use them? Or would they fray? self combust? or worse?

Or does anyone have a reputable source for boots for the truly mahoosive legs?

Try a farming supply shop as they cater for all shapes and sizes plus have decent quality wellies.
The plastic gimmicky wellies are poor quality and will not last long.

found these! scroll past the Hunters (which are terrible)

I have massive calves and finally found these which have an adjustable bit so fit quite well

I have these

They are quite wide round the top and I can easily fit my ample calf in!!

Hunter's 'Huntress' wellies are cut for the wider of calf among us.

I have massive calves (see Login name) and live in the countryside, so wide wellies are close to my heart. I hate hunters - too skinny on calves, to narrow on feet, soles totally non grippy. Plastic wellies are just cheap and plasticy and last about 2 mins and have useless soles.

After years of research, IMO these are the ultimate welly, and they won't break the bank.

Super Wellies

Just realised that Ducky and I have linked to the same wellies via different sources.

Thanks for the links ladies, I will definitely bear them in mind if I'm going to need wellies for long term wearing.

At the moment it's just one camping trip so for £5 I'm going to give it a go with just cheap flowery wellies which I've managed to cut a slit down the back to widen them. I'm sure they'll be rubbish but I only should need wellies for occasional camping trips. If I need them for more, I'll be getting the ones you linked to - look great. Thank you!

I just got some from Homebase. Not fantastic but they do the job for the rare occasion I need wellies.

When I move to my small holding I am having lovely wellies.
