... Bio Oil.

I'm plastered in stretchmarks and, finally, I decided to skint myself out and buy a bottle.

Anyone with these dreaded blighters had any success wth it?

My skin is brown, stretchmarks white - not sure if that makes any difference. (?)

Much thanks for any responses.

Now you see, you should have asked before forking out the money.

nickytwotimes · 16/05/2009 21:10

I thought that nothing got rid of them?

Wuxiapian · 16/05/2009 21:17

Hmmm.

Now.

What to say?

DOn't worry, I'm sure loads of successful Bio users will be along shortly...

nickytwotimes · 16/05/2009 21:19

...and anyway, it will make your skin texture nice, which is always good.

The silence is deafening...

IMO nothing works for stretchmarks. My stomach looks like someone has reversed over it in a Landrover.

Sorry.

On the plus side I think Bio oil give you lovely soft skin.

Amandoh · 17/05/2009 01:18

Bio Oil is great for helping to reduce scarring and is often recommended for use after operations that leave scars but it won't shift stretchmarks.

If your skin is brown and the stretchmarks are white then you might find a daily moisturiser with self tan makes them look less noticeable.

I'm sorry but now they are white there is not a lot you can do.
when they are pink there is still a blood supply to them and you can try and minimise but you will never be 'rid' of them -the skin has ripped.
amandoh has the best tip.

Ok - so this must be the most depressing thread of the weekend.

Hopefully · 17/05/2009 09:48

Just by the by, I agree about them being a lost cause once they're firmly there, but I am convinced I managed to minimise them while PG by religiously using bio oil and everything else I could lay my hands on. I'm definitely prone to stretchmarks (have them all over the sides of my hips and thighs), but only got a couple of teeny ones on my bikini line when I was pregnant. And I went 2 weeks overdue and was massive.

Wuxiapian · 17/05/2009 12:01

My stretchmarks have never been anything but white - they just appear white.

Yes, MrsStig, it could well be.

I have them on tops of arms, chest, boobs, tum, hips and all over legs... I'm doomed, it seems!
