Size 22/24, short & got a serious 'mummy tummy' going on - find me a dress!

I'd really like a nice dress this summer.. something that'll flatter me hopefully.. but i have a god-awful figure.

I'm size 22/24, i have 40G boobs and am only 5'4. and after two kids (one of whom is only 2mo) a mummy tummy that even magic knickers struggle to contain.

help me mumsnet fashionistas!

God you sound just like me. Are you bigger on top or bottom or is it evenly spread iykwim?! I tend to draw attention to the boobs which will hopefully divert attention from the tummy (and the bum and the thighs....). I find fitted kneelength one seem to flatter most? Except I have a short-back so can only fit petite fitted stuff which only goes up to sizes 16/18...grrrr...

kiera · 13/05/2009 23:54

or maybe one that is fitted around the boobs/waist and flares out from below the hips?

I'll be watching this post in hope of inspiration!

bigger on top, unless i sit down, lol, then the current post-baby spare tyre takes over!

you have to wear heels (not nec really big ones). I have worn flats (5.5, size 18-20) for years but have trained my feet over the last few months into heels for work (sitting down most of the day) or for "going out" (ie anything including staying in that doesn't involve wearing sweat pants).

try boots with the dress even in the summer

don't expose your arms but go for a jacket - something funky not a boring one, go for a khaki combat or denim jacket, over any sort of dress, it can have no sleeves but if you keep a cotton jacket over it you can hide a multitude of whatnots

I like this and it comes in your size:

spotty dress

This is pretty:

Another floral number (up to a 22):
