Yes - two weeks ago. £125.00 but I can go back as many times as i want, until they have ALL gone.

It hurt! But I opted out of the anaestetic gel which would have saved me mucho pain because i didn't have the extra 15 minutes required in order for it to work.

Skin looks brilliant. the best it has looked in the last 10 years (I'm 42) and I now just have a few veins left which I'm having done next week (with the gel!!!).

Best £125 I haven't got I've ever spent - confidence has soared as a consequence!

ooooh great!

did you have them all over?

I want nostrils done..ouch! yrs of allergic blowing and bits on cheeks.

Where did you get it done?

oooh! yes, where did you get it done?

I had it on the NHS. Went to see my doctor to see if she would refer me privately and she just referred me via NHS, so I got it for free which I wasn't expecting. Mine was quite bad though, bang in centre of nose so must have been classified as 'disfiguring'. And it was brilliant, I only needed one treatment.

So might be worth checking with your GP?

I wonder at what age dd can have hers done

Nose, spreading out over cheeks with clusters close to nose/eyes. Nostril ones too.

The lady took special photos of my face first and from these, she could see which were the 'feeder' veins. She zapped those first and explained that once those feeders have been tackled, lots of smaller veins would disappear - and they did!

She said "It will feel like snapping an elstic band on your skin." The lying beatch - it felt like someone snapping Dunlop tractor tyres on my skin but hey - it worked and I'm very happy with the results.

There was much heat and redness afterwards which disappeared after a few hours. There was some swelling near the eyes which disappeared after two or three days and there were some marks which looked like very dark freckles which came off after three days. I didn't care about any of that though because I could see STRAIGHT AWAY that the veins had gone and it was so worth it.

I hope it works out as well for anyone else who goes for it.

I went to a salon/spa in Bramhall called 'Loved'. I shall see if I can find a link. I had to research to get the right place and this woman was sooooo knowledgeable, due diligence and all that.

This is very encouraging. I have rosacea and no longer EVER go out without makeup. Have been told laser would make a big difference to the redness (all caused by dilated blood vessels that don't constrict) which really would change my life but a big expense for something if not much chance of success. Good to read this.

Heated · 08/05/2009 20:53

Doodle, that's a great result. What sort of research did you do to find the right place?

chequersmate · 08/05/2009 20:55

I had electrolysis (know that's now what you're asking but..) - was about £55, worked really well.

Did hurt.

Doodle2U · 08/05/2009 21:13

I looked up what the procedure was called, found a list of places that did it within a 20 mile radius and rang around. I wanted to know were they qualified, what was involved in becoming qualified, how they decided to 'choose' the machine they bought, what the real risks were (and how they explained those risks to me), were they insured etc etc. Basically, I wanted to know that I was in the right place!

Loved (one of the closer places to me as luck would have it) were brilliant on the phone & when I got there. A lady called Helen talked me through everything, was happy to talk me through everything and she quite obviously knew her stuff and wanted me to be 100% happy before I did anything. She had me fill out a comprehensive questionnaire and she double-checked everything. She explained the photos and answered all the questions that came to me and a few I would never have thought of.

As with anything, there are risks but it worked out for me and I am, quite frankly, delighted.

You have to understand here girls - I am not now nor have I ever been, a good looking woman. I know what I am and I know what I'm not. I did this FOR ME and all I can tell you is that it did my self confidence and self-esteem the power of good.
