Lovely.

I will just need to do a spot of whoring to pay for it.

BernardsCat · 08/05/2009 19:16

no it is tongue in cheek I think.

the school run dress was a term coined once by some old mumsntters who wanted to describe a casual low hassle dress to put on over a bikini( see how long ago this was when it was HOT!!) to walk to pick the kids up, or any other menial task.
it has to have some kind of strap and be low maintenance.

It has not relaly ever been spotted, a bit like the "stylish mac wiht a hood that repels rain"

Thanks BernardsCat - I will keep a big eye out for such desrible apparel

I actually saw someone in the playground wearing that Ralph Lauren Jacket today!!!

LetThemEatCake · 08/05/2009 22:40

there are a few things on that page that i wouldn't wear like, er, this but on the whole, I think good choices. Presumably you're going somewhere post-school run? Lunch? shopping? a meeting? Not home to do the gardening or clean the house. And I think expensive jeans are totally okay when you're wearing them every day - which, let's face it, most of us are.

ooh what was it like I am coveting it

ThingOne · 08/05/2009 22:45

I really need a £675 bag for my five minute walk to school. Oh yes, I do.

And snort at needing £199 jeans.

EachPeachPearMum · 08/05/2009 23:14

andiem was that to me re RL jacket?
It looked good! she had a white top underneath (boatneck) and navy trousers.
I like it too... but am too short for it.

I live in Paris in an area with a lot of mothers who seem to spend most of their time on shopping and self-maintenance while their trophy British nanny (aka my 'colleagues') actually does the mucky stuff regarding the children.

I, by the way, work for a nice, sensible family where both parents work, wear suits and let me get on with it. Can't be doing with the pernickety French SAHMamans and some days I'd probably have trouble not laughing at some of their outfits!

BernardsCat · 09/05/2009 15:07

oh really. I cant think of anyone like that.
