Hi, I did order my daughter a dress from I love gorgeous. It's called Dorothy and it's raw silk shiffon. When it arrived, it's so fine I'm worried she'll rip or snag it.
She has two weddings to go to, so I don't want it to be ruined the first time she wears it. It was also very expencive.
I did speek to a lady that had that dress for her daughter, but I can't remember her name, so it it was you, please let me know what you think.
I was going to send it back, but it looks so lovely, I don't really want to.

no but I have frequently ogled their collection and riffled though their sales online when they have them.
How old is your dd?

sobloodystupid · 05/05/2009 13:06

mmm, hard one to call. My dd is 3 and is flowergirl in July, is supposed to be wearing Ben de Lisi dress (I know!) but she is refusing to wear it now. Is your dd a girly girl, iyswim?

mummyloveslucy · 05/05/2009 13:16

Oh yes, she is very girly. And happy to wear anything except trousers.

My DD wore a dress from I love gorgeous when she was a bridesmaid. It was very expensive, very fragile - and very badly made.

Hello, it was me!

I know what you mean, it is very fine fabric, but such a pretty dress.

DD has worn it twice, and it has stood up pretty well to the challange. I do make sure it 'disappears' after each party, IYKWIM, otherwise she would live in it! We won't be taking it out again until July for SILs wedding, but after that it will have done it's special occasion duty and she can wear it to school if she wants

I think if you whip it off her as soon as she gets home from the first wedding, and handwash it, it should be ok for the second one. That's assuming she's not going to be climbing trees in it!

Thanks, she is going to the wedding and the meal, but I'm taking her home and comming back for the evening do. I hope she'll manage not to rip it in that space of time.
Oh and what shoes does your daughter wear with it? I like the start-rite english classics with the button. Would they look good with it?

Snap! I got her powder pink start-rite style shoes with a button and strap in House of Fraser. They fit dd much better than start-rite as she has a high instep.

Hope you have a lovely time, she will look lovely!

Now, what are you wearing?

mummyloveslucy · 05/05/2009 20:51

I got my dress in Monsoon in the sale. It cost less than her dress. It is lovely though, very floaty.
My daughter also has a high instep, this is spooky. I'll have to look at house of frazer.

I haven't got anything to wear yet, I'll take a look in Monsoon so!

Hope we don't turn up at the same wedding
