Would these shoes look good with this dress ??

Hi, I've bought this dress for my 4 year old daughter for my sisters wedding.

I love start-rite and thought about thses shoes, but I'm not sure they would go with the pink on the ribbon of the dress.
We've looked in monsoon, but she finds them uncomfortable. She's always had start-rite.

These would be in pink.

The girl in the picture is bare footed, so it dosn't show what shoes would look best. I also thought of sandles with out socks.
Please tell me what you think.
Thanks

Very pretty dress!

I think the shoes will be too heavy for such a summery dress and would go for sandals - something like these

or boden have got some pretty silver ones too.

Or even ballet shoe type shoes . . .

the startrite ones would be fine.

Or these sandals

again in baby pink.

My sisters dress is quite retro, so that's why I like the button shoe. I agree, it could look a bit heavy.

i'd definitely go for the sandals - much more summery

nancy75 · 30/04/2009 12:24

i think the sandals look heavier than the shoes, the sole is too clumpy

mummyloveslucy · 30/04/2009 12:24

Thanks.

These are the least clumpy sandals start-rite do. I'd probubly have to look at another make then.
The classics are lovely.

To be honest most people won't be looking that far down so i wouldn't worry if they are not an exact match. The main thing is that she is comfortable.
Beautiful dress by the way

nancy75 · 30/04/2009 12:32

sorry

They look nice, but we'd have to try them. I can't see her being too happy about the tow post.

I agree, her comfort is most important. She isn't very well co-ordinated, so has to have well fitting shoes to prevent her tripping. (possible dyspraxia)

these are quite nice, i have bought this make before and they are well made

Yes, they look nice, but cost more than start-rite. They do look good quality though.

I have a friend who owns a childrens clothes shop, selling Sarah-louise, mayoral, little darlings etc.
She is fantastic at knowing what looks good together, so she would be good to ask.
I'd feel a bit cheeky though, as the dress didn't come from her shop. She dosn't stock that make.
Should I still ask her, or would she see me as a traytor.

The other option would be satin bridesmaids shoes, died to match the ribbon.
I asked about them and the lady in the wedding shop said they cost £24 then £20 to dye them. I thought they'd be cheeper than the start-rite classics.
