How to cope with red cheeks?

Recently I've noticed that the skin on my face has become more highly coloured than before and is quite red sometimes. I don't know if it's the beginnings of rosacea or what.

I've never worn much make up and the foundation I have is more like a tinted moisturiser. My natural skin tone is very pale.

What would be good for covering the redness?

It might sound weird but I've heard using a green moisturiser and green based make up counter-balances red skin tones. Might be worth a look, google it maybe?

I have heard that before as well, but I wasn't quite sure what it was. I'll try google, thanks.

Yes, I used to use Boots 17 or No7 (can't remember which) colour corrective moisturiser in my younger days as I used to get a pronounced "beer flush" on nights out. Now I don't go out anywhere near as much so not as much of an issue!!! Actually it seems to have resolved as I've got older.

Anyway, it's scarily green but you just blend it in then put your normal make up on top. It really works and you won't look like the Wicked Witch of the West, honest!

La Roche Posay is a french brand of skin care, I'm not sure how widely available it is in the UK, in Ireland it's in most independant pharmacies. They have a range called Rosiliac, I think, which is really good for high colour. It's well worth a try if you can find it.

I'll try the Boots stuff as it'll be cheap enough, but I see you can get the French stuff online so I may treat myself.

Thanks very much for suggestions.

Try Benifit 'Bluff dust' Or 'Lemonaide' I dont have red cheeks but have a friend that does and she got the bluffdust, I swear by Benifit stuff and cant leave the house wihout at least one of their products on!!
Have a look at benifit.com to give you an idea!

PS, Benifit is not exactly 'makeup' they call it enhancers mostly, so it is perfect for people who dont use alot of makeup,

I have the same problem and have bought two products from Boots no 7 to try to help. The first one was the colour corrective (green) moisturiser - which - TBH - made me look like I was about to be sick (perhaps I put too much on)

The second I've bought more recently is called something like calming gel and you are supposed to put it on areas prone to redness in the morning and evening after cleansing and before your moisturiser. It says that you are supposed to see benefits in two weeks of doing this. Well, I confess that I do not always clean my make up in the evening so I haven't actually been putting it on twice a day, but so far am not noticing any reduced redness.

I normally use two foundations on my face - a very light one, like a tinted moisturiser for all over, then a heavier one (its a mousse formula) just over the sides of my nose and cheeks.

There are very good anti-redness creams and products on the market that really do help. Try Aderma.

Check with your doc first to make sure it isn't rosacea. It's very easy to treat. However, left untreated, it can become very unsightly and difficult to get rid of.

I have it. I used to use antibiotic cream for a month or so to get it under control. I'd then leave it alone until I noticed more redness appearing and then I'd go back to the antibiotic cream again. Now, I just add some pure rose oil to a basic face cream or my oil cleansing routine and it's pretty much gone, without the need for antibiotics.
