Veet?

I shave my legs. Every day or they are prickly.
I am bored of it, and thought that using a cream once a week could save time on a weekday morning too.

If you use a hair removal cream on your legs, how long til the hairs surface?
Does it save time?
Thought in general?

I was quite impressed with the Veet shower cream stuff. I don't think there was much difference in regrowth between this and shaving, but it was a lot less hassle.

me too, prickly prickly...started getting them waxed and makes a huge difference, although you do have to wait it out inbetween waxings...veet same as shaving really...

wastingmyeducation · 28/04/2009 17:04

Not much point if it doesn't last really then. Humph.

Thank you!

Epilate. I bought myself an epilator recently and it's really good, recommended it to my sister, she tried mine and is buying her self one too. Hating waxing and shaving is a waste of time really because it grows back over the next couple of days. Not with an epilator.

BitOfFun · 28/04/2009 17:10

I couldn't bear the sound of the epilator, it frightened the daylights out of me, I wasn't putting it anywhere near my skin! I had to take it back for a refund < wuss >

TheGreatScootini · 28/04/2009 17:16

How much does the epilator hurt though?

CompareTheMeerkat · 28/04/2009 17:18

I recommend an epilator as well - it is a bit tingly but does stop the constant need to shave.

stripeypineapple · 28/04/2009 17:23

It doesn't hurt on my legs. I can feel the hairs being pulled out which sounds painful but isn't, I find it curiously fascinating and satisfying. Slightly more tingly in the armpits and I will admit that on the bikini line it's effing PAINFUL but the one I bought came with a shaving attachment so I use that for down there.

wastingmyeducation · 28/04/2009 17:47

I tried my Mum's epilator once, it made me bleed. Put me off a bit.

How long do the results last then?
I am going to two festival this year and am sick of being the only one in the campsite with a bic and a bottle of water.

Spose could just get legs waxed, but I hate having it done.I used to do it myself but I seem to have become more sensitive to the pain of it since have DD's oddly.

CompareTheMeerkat · 28/04/2009 18:54

Mine last a week or two (and I have very hairy legs if not treated)

misshardbroom · 28/04/2009 21:00

how easily can you do the backs of them?

stripeypineapple · 29/04/2009 12:24

The major hairs are kept at bay for about two weeks, a few finer blonde ones come through before then but they don't really show anyhow.

If you go on to amazon and look at the reviews of epilators on there you'll see that the majority of people say that they've really improved them and they hurt a lot less than they used to.

Getting round to the backs of the legs isn't a prob, no different to shaving. Armpits are a little trickier because you want to pull the skin taught whilst doing it so a little help might be needed.

My DP doesn't mind holding my armpits taught whilst I epilate them, ahh the romance!

Hmm... I'm being persuaded on the epilator.
