BlueEyedMaid · 25/04/2009 22:25

Have weaned self off Clarins stupidly expensive but glorious multi-active day cream.

Suggestions please for rich & nice smelling day creams under £10 or so??

I use body shop's seaweed mattifying day moisturiser, it's also SPF 15 with a nice smell and not too heavy

BlueEyedMaid · 25/04/2009 22:34

How much is it?

&8.80 - ooh its gone up been a while since I bought some! here

BlueEyedMaid · 25/04/2009 23:02

Sounds good. I've got Nivea's radiance boosting something or other cream on half price offer from Tesco (oh! the glamour) for less than a fiver - not bad and it does make me shiny in a good way but not so good for moisture, I think. Will def have a dabble at Body Shop.

i have really dry skin and have been using ponds rich cream which i got from boots arount £3ish i think. its fab. no other creamm was for me before that.

Clure · 26/04/2009 18:24

This is as cheap as they come but I did read that this cream is as good as some of the more mid price creams, haven't tried it myself yet!

Apparently Aldi's face cream is the best and is under £3. No Aldi's round here so I haven't tried it myself, but have heard this a few times.

MrsMattie · 26/04/2009 18:27

Loreal Revitalift or the Garnier one in the red pot with SPF 15 (cant remember name, just run out!). I weaned myself off Clarins, Lancome, Clinique and Eve Lom, and now use the oil cleansing method, plus one of these moisturisers in the daytime.

cornsilk · 26/04/2009 18:27

Aldi face cream was highly rated by Gok. I tried it - it's fine.

Numberfour · 26/04/2009 18:27

i like the sainsburys range - cannot remember what it's called !!
and too lazy to go upstairs to look

but that's because I should be working on my assignment and not chatting on MN!!!

ruddynorah · 26/04/2009 18:38

none! do the oil cleansing method and you don't need any.

BlueEyedMaid · 26/04/2009 19:07

Thanks ladies - what's the oil cleansing method? I'm intrigued...

BlueEyedMaid · 26/04/2009 19:18

Thanks! I am still intrigued - might start looking ut for castor oil. Does it smell funny?

Oil of Olay skin illuminating lotion with SPF15 - it's about £7.50 (poss cheaper) and fabulous.

Furball · 26/04/2009 19:24

Tesco B natural range, no crap in and cheapy cheapy. Great stuff, I now use it instead of Dermalogica.

popsycal · 26/04/2009 19:25

aldi one
or superdrug illymiating

purepurple · 26/04/2009 19:26

I use both Aldi's day and night creams and they work for me

elliephant · 26/04/2009 19:31

Former Clarins addict now Ponds user. And the jars look nice on the shelf ( shallow smiley)

BlueEyedMaid · 26/04/2009 19:36

I am still a Clarins junkie - can't seem to stop using the foaming cleanser. Any ideas for good budget face washes and scrubs? Much appreciate it. I like Dr. Lowe's stuff from Boots but lets face it - it ain't cheap.

Olay Total Effects is very rich, it's always on offer somewhere.
The Aldi ones are good too, certainly worth a try for £2 or whatever it is.

ladette · 27/04/2009 10:37

agree with the Aldi one (tho I think it has an odd smell!) I've been using it the day and night creams for a year now and am as happy with it as Clarins/Clinique etc.

LouieStrumpet · 27/04/2009 11:33

As well as the OCM, I use a little bit of Nivea Creme in the dark blue pottle.

It costs about £8 I think and is very rich.
