Swimmers - please help

I am training for an open water swim in September and I need recommendations for great hair products.

I am swimming four times a week in an indoor pool and I wear a (very glamorous!) swimming hat.

Also, my skin gets a bit itchy. Any thoughts on whether slahtering my face with vaseline pre-swim would help?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I like the Vaseline with Aloe that you get in little "Lipsalve" tins for my face when swimming.

Also, see if you can get a lycra swimming hat - so much nicer to the hair than a rubber or silicon one.

Have been swimming regularly/competitively for 20 years and still havn't found a great hair product, but steer clear of Boots' own label swim shampoo. I find it makes my hair drier and knottier than if I did nothing!

Thanks, BRS.

I haven't come across the lycra swimming hats so I will track one down and I will also get some of that aloe vaseline tomorrow.

this is often recommended in magazines for swimmers hair, so might be worth a try.

Thanks, Macherie. I was checking that out earlier, but was a little at the price. However, if nothing cheaper comes up on here then I may well go for it.
