Where can I buy pretty non-underwire bras online?

BF has left me practically flat-chested, so much so that I probably don't even need to wear a bra but I do want to treat myself to a couple as all I seem to be wearing at the moment are crop-top type sports bras....not the most attractive!

Can anyone recommend somewhere that I can find pretty, lacy maybe, wireless (I hate underwire) bras? I've looked on figleaves and have been to M&S but to no avail.

This is the kind of thing I am after...

How about this one from Aubin & Wills?

dairymoo · 21/04/2009 13:58

Ooh - I really like that! I've never heard of Aubin & Wills....but I am also liking the fact that it is £16 down from £49!! Thanks

Good link dexter, thank you. Watching this thread with great interest.

I actually found myself in the 'angel' my first bra section of M&S the other day but couldn't quite bring myself to buy something intended for a 12 year old.

Oh how lovely it was to have BF boobs.......

Are you sure you cannot do wires? Will give much better shape and they are much sexier than non-wired.

I can do wires, just prefer not to as I find them uncomfortable. And I have to say that with the lack of boob to actually put in the bra, I don't think it makes a great deal of difference shape-wise. I agree that most wireless ones aren't as pretty as underwired - that's why I am looking for some sexy ones!

Dairymoo - Have you had a proper fitting ever? (not an M&S fitting), from an independant bra shop or from Bravissimo/Rigby Peller/John Lewis?

Alot of women find underwires uncomfortable when they are wearing the incorrect size. Its makes a huge difference when suddenly they are wearing the right size and the wire is in a different place.

Your underwire should:

  1. When you push it in against your skin you should be able to feel rib/not squashy breast tissue at the end towards your armpit.
  1. Sit flush against your sternum inbetween your breasts. You should have to 'pull' the bra out to get a finger up there, there should be no space there.
  1. When you lift your arms above your head, the underwires (and your boobs) should stay put & not ride up over your boobs, or your boobs should not fall out.

When you are wearing a decent fitting soft cup, although the boobs tend not to be so 'seperate' you should still achieve a decent level of support.

When I fit women into soft cups, I get them to stand sideways onto the mirror so they can see the bra & the "shelf" of support it gives their bust. Your entire bra should be level and horizontal. And not ride up in the back.

Hope that helps a bit.

Have a look on the mothercare web site under support bras there are quite a few pretty soft cups there. I got a fab panache one in the sale there for £6 recently!

Bodas good for bras for the not hugely well endowed.

Also Elle McPherson.....

Lizzzombie - yes, I have had a proper fitting - JL. Apparently I am a 34A (was 32C during BF ) and I think they checked all the things that you mentioned, well, I hope they did!

I just prefer wireless ones and find that they seem to fit my shape better.

Thanks for the fitting advice though - will def keep in mind!

Bodas do have some nice bras - but are quite expensive too. I'm asking the impossible, aren't I?

That is unusual that your back size went up after BFing.

Can I just ask, when you measure yourself, under your bust, what is your actual back measurement? If you are still a 32" measurement then those are the bras you should be going for. Unless you have put weight on since you've stopped BFing and gone up to a 34" back.

Also, just in case you didn't know, when you go down in the back measurement, you go up in the cup measurement.

so:
32B = 34A
32C = 34B
(same cup size just tighter in the back)

HTH.
