Reasonably priced Lelli Kelly shoes - where can I find them?!

Can anyone help? I can't justify shelling out £40 for a pair of shoes for my four-year old! Does anyone know where I can get them cheaper?

Thanks!

eBay?

mermaidgirl · 16/04/2009 14:07

Tried there - they are still just as pricey!

Sales - John Lewis and Jones soemtiems have odd last season pairs. They are price fixed otherwise.

crokky · 16/04/2009 14:08

If they are still as pricey on eBay, you could buy them new and sell them on eBay when your DD grows out of them? I usually sell my DCs shoes when they grow out of them.

Mamazon · 16/04/2009 14:10

just go to next or adams and buy normal pretty plimsoles. se wont know the difference and you'll save a fortune

bran · 16/04/2009 14:13

I can't see the difference between Lelli Kelly and normal canvas shoes (Jojomamabebe do nice ones), a tub of mixed sequins and some superglue

Rosa · 16/04/2009 14:17

They vairy from EU30 - EU36 here . I got a pair for Eu33 last week . YOu could try some Italian sites as they might be cheaper.

bobsyouruncle · 16/04/2009 14:58

I bought my 6 year old dd a pair of Lelli Kelly lookalike sandals in Shoe Zone for £7.99, even she's fooled so you'd have not problem with a 4 year old

BunnyLebowski · 16/04/2009 15:06

No idea......but the ad makes me want to put my head in a blender

AramintaMoondial · 16/04/2009 15:06

these from Next are popular with my DD.
Must admit I also got both DDs Lelli Kelly's for easter (in half a size bigger so they'll last!) and they are lovely! The price is shocking though...

reikizen · 16/04/2009 15:10

ohh those next ones are lovely!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 16/04/2009 15:21

Simple answer - don't

My mum bought DD2 a pair of Lelli Kellie pink, shiny, sequined, bejewelled, buckled, zip-up and lace-up boots. Yes, they have all of the above on them. And yes, they are as 'gorgeous' as they sound.

I was speechless when she jumped off the train, shouting "Mummeee Mummeee look what Granneeee buyed me!!!!!! They're fairy princess boots!!!!" Cue sneers from people around me.......

God, she loves them, I loathe them. My mum cheerfully admits that they were partially bought to irritate me, not just because DD2 loved them so much.

The ads make me want to stick my head in a blender too.

ChippyMinton · 16/04/2009 20:00

Costco have them for £30 - probably last year's style.

DD has a pair, & I think they are gorgeous. She needed some non-school shoes, Clarks trainers are £30, so I justified the extra for LKs by calling them a birthday present.

CHOOGIRL · 16/04/2009 21:28

Try smaller independent shoe shops - you can get them for about £35. Costco have a couple of styles for £30. I got one pair on e-bay for £18. Also my friend visits Milan quite frequently so she always picks me up a pair. Hopefully I am not transferring my shoe habit to my DD aged 3!!

MamaHobgoblin · 17/04/2009 12:29

Are you crafty? Could you find a nice pair of white lace up plimsols, go to Hobbycraft, buy some of those sew-on rhinestones, sequins etc, and decorate your own, bespoke Lelli Kellys? (Alternatively, roll 'em in glue and chuck the stuff at them - looks like how the originals are made! )

They are just... awful. Can't you talk her out of it? I hate the adverts, the gaudiness, the fact that they give away makeup with them (guess they haven't signed up to that Let Girls be Girls campaign) the overt bullying message they send out - 'with Lelli Kelly we are so cool', the implication being that if you don't have them you're not cool.

Why not do as others suggest and make your own glitzy ott pair for her?

HurleySatOnMe · 24/06/2010 17:15

You have to pay to advertise sss.
But my dd has a pair that are over a year old, go in the machine, and still look new. She wears them to death so we've had our (well, grannys ) moneys worth

muggglewump · 24/06/2010 17:22

Oh I love them.
I've never been able to afford them but have bought DD many a similar pair from Shoezone.

I'm afraid I adore unicorn vomit just as much as DD

She's 8 and is off to her school disco tonight dressed in skinnies with a black dress over and black Converse.

She'd laugh at me if I bought her Lelli Kellis now.

Make the most of it while you can![grin}

nidsnay · 24/06/2010 18:25

In the past I've gone into the nearest Lelli Kelly stockist to check which size my dd needs, (as LKsizing can differ a bit from other shoes) nad then gone onto ebay to find a shoe shop or private seller with them cheaper. I've bought some lovely stuff - for example sandals last year for £22 instead of £42. I then went on to sell them on ebay second-hand and got about £15 back.
dd is now 6 and has already moved to Converse and less obviously girly stuff.

Franup · 24/06/2010 21:37

Hi

I've been lurking for yonks and actually registered to give you this link

www.charlesclinkard.co.uk/sale#m35

I wait every year to buy my dc's sandals in their sale. Not Lelli-Kellis though as mine are too mucky pup for them.

Looks like the sizes are limited in most styles though
