Am thinking about having these done for my wedding as I have the shortest rubbish-est eye lashes in the world.

Has anyone had them? Yay/Nay? Some of them are £70+, although they reckon that they last 3 months , would rather not waste money if they are rubbish?

I had some temporary individual eyelashes (that last a weekend) put on at a beauty salon that cost £8. I hated them and thought they looked really long and fake so i took them off straight away.

£70 seems way too much money to spend on them especially as you can get some fake ones from Boots for a fiver and these are just as good.

I prefere the ones from Boots to be honest and they have so many different ones so you can start with short ones and work your way up to the longer ones when you feel a bit more confident. You soon get the hang of putting them on too.

Hope this helps

No but I fancy it as well.

Pinkjenny · 14/04/2009 13:25

I had them done on the outer corners only, they looked really nice, and much more subtle than a full set.

Ewe · 14/04/2009 13:29

I have had them done several times and they can look really natural - they come in 5 different lengths so you can have them as natural or as long as you like!

Lasting 3 months is rubbish though. Your eyelashes moult cycle (probably not the right term, hope you know what I mean!) is a month and they are similar to having fake nails, you have them infilled every few weeks. £70 is too much money for them, where in the country are you? £50 is the most I would pay, it does take a long time to put them on but £70 is not at all competitive!

freind of mine has these all the time keeps re newing them They look amazing!!!!

geordieminx · 14/04/2009 13:34

£70 is for the new "hollywood" lashes - whatever they are.. there are probably a few local salons that do pretty much the same thing a lot cheaper - will investgate. Might get them done a good few months before wedding as a trial - just incase I hate them

I want them! Does it damage the existing lashes at all?

geordieminx · 14/04/2009 15:34

I dont think so Cornsilk...

Wish I could afford them

A colleague of mine had them a few years ago and they looked incredible...she didn't pay anywhere near a huge amount of money though. £15 I think.

shhhh · 14/04/2009 15:47

I had a full set for my birthday and few months ago. They lasted about 4 weeks and I loved them.
I had one that gave the mascara effect BUT I much preferred them with a coat of mascara lol..!
You have to be careful with them and tbh I often forgot and rubbed my eyes/pulled my lashes etc BUT otherwise they were fab..Do it.!!!

It doesn;t damage the lashes if you are careful. BUT even so I still found that falash ones came out with mine attached. That said, when I removed them I wasn't bald iykwim.!

Mine btw were on offer and about £40 with infil at £15.

shhhh · 14/04/2009 15:49

imo, get a set applied prefessionaly. Fake ones applied yourself imo are hard work unless you are a professional beauty person. I have tried in the past and gave up.

BitOfFun · 14/04/2009 15:51

I once had them done for about seven quid. They were a bit too long and fine for my taste, but some people look great in them. They only lasted two or three days for me. I sometimes try the whole strips you can get in superdrug, but one of them generally comes a bit unstuck and gives you the roaming caterpillar effect, so I haven't bothered the last few times I've been tempted.

< sigh > Why does my DP have the most beautiful eyelashes in the world? They are so wasted on a man!

Have a look at this

I used to work for a skincare company. Lavish lashes used to use our training salon to train their people. I was a practise model for them a few times. They looked lovely. They didnt last as long as they should have. Maybe a week. You need to be really careful with eye makeup remover etc. It takes ages to have them put on too. Who will be doing your wedding make up? I would say maybe just a good set of false lashes or the individual falses from a good brand like Mac etc and have them put on by your make up artist on the day?

I've had lash extensions on for over a year.

Full set was £50, and I pay £15 every 2 weeks to have infills, ie your natural lash falls out. They are comfortable and durable.

You can go as thin or thick as you like, for your wedding, have them done at least 6 weeks before and go three times and have them built up, I can promise you that you will want them thicker after the 2nd visit, as you just get used to them so quickly.

I certainly dont look like a drag queen, but I have 15 d's put on which are thick and curly. The bigger your eye naturally, the more you can have on.

Def give it a go, I would never go back....
