I wouldn't wear this and I'm 10 years younger than her..

Ok this is really bitchy so I've name changed. Particularly bitchy as she's my sister

My sister turned up today wearing this:

A tight 'jasper conran' logoed cerise t shirt.

cropped white jacket, white jeans and spotty stilettos.

This is for an outing with my 77year old mum around the local shops. I was wearing jeans, m&s skinny rib black sweater, and uggs. I thought I was being funky cool by putting on a chunky necklace.

WHO WAS DRESSED APPROPRIATELY, ME OR HER? pLEASE SAY ME. but i felt scruffy next to her. hmm.

i'm 38, she's 48.

She may not have dressed appropriately but at least she wasn't dressed boringly.

Is boringly a word?

whatabitch · 11/04/2009 21:24

hmm yes this is my fear.

Weeeeelll, she can wear what she likes. It doesn't sound like it would look good on anyone, but not because it was inappropriate IYSWIM. Just because it's naff. (I cannot understand anyone who wears clothes with brands logoed across them - just do not get it)

muffle · 11/04/2009 21:26

Your clothes don't sound boring to me. But if you were boringly dressed for a trip to the shops, so what?

mrsmaidamess · 11/04/2009 21:49

And if she was dressed like a Vegas Chorus girl for a trip to the shops, so what? It sounds like the OP was embarressed to be seen with her..... .....Or...maybe a leetle bit jealous?

MrsMerryBunnyGirlHenry · 11/04/2009 21:51

Well I hate Uggs, so...

Desiderata · 11/04/2009 21:51

Who cares?

I mean, really. Who cares?

TheProvincialLady · 11/04/2009 21:53

If you were wearing Uggs you have already lost the moral high ground

Yo. Or something.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 11/04/2009 22:01

does it matter?

ShowOfHands · 11/04/2009 22:03

I think the important thing was that you were both wearing clothes.

Beyond that I can't muster any interest.

Curiousmama · 11/04/2009 22:10

I'm 40 and my best mate is 47 and she can get away with short skirts still as she's tiny

As for your sis she obviously likes attention?

ItsMargotBeaurEGGarde · 11/04/2009 22:12

Well, age aside, that outfit sounds like something Liz from Corrie would put together. SOH, that is very true though, very positive way of looking at things.

BitOfFunnyBunny · 11/04/2009 22:13

You're not Hecate and Shivermetimbers are you? Or Rhubarb and Custardo?

HecAteTheEasterBunny · 12/04/2009 08:48

Certainly not me and shiver!

OP - it's not a competition. Both wear what you like.

KristinaM · 12/04/2009 16:46

i am a similar age to your sister and i woulndt wear that all together . i don't do logo t shirts at all but i woudl wear white linen trousers in the summer. and i would wear spotty heels but not with jeans. but then i am probably boring

TBh i think she sounds a little OTT and you sounds quite casual.not scruffy.

i bet you are a Fat Face/joe brown person and she is more sexy/glam???

so its just that you have different styles, rather than one of you was inappropriately dressed

TheScatterGunApproach · 12/04/2009 17:08

Hm. Her outfit sounds um...not all that classy. However I must point at that you yourself were wearing slippers. Call it a draw.
